Anyone else miss Quinn's old ultimate
Because being dragged around unrealistically by a bird is nowhere near as cool as becoming a bird and gouging out your enemy's eyes

I miss when they were released as "Quinn and Valor" now they are just "Quinn" :(
I'm pretty sure they changed to just Quinn at her release.
Nope.
The release had them as "Quinn and Valor"
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/quinn-and-valor-demacias-wings-now-available
they dropped Valor from the name at a later time.
Tbf her ult was the exact same thing but you changed into valor.
The old one had the potential to be more but who actually fought as valor? Honestly that was just plain suïcide.
Yeah, a ranged character deciding to become melee? Let's be honest now, that was just a weird design choice in general.
Nidalee and jayce show it's possible if well executed.
I'd say Their combos are just more solid. which is why quinn kept the combo part of her old ult. (ult + e)
there's also gnar but well he's a special case as he builds bruiser.
Nidalee? Elise? Jayce? Gnar? Seems to work for them, and more often than not they WANT to become melee.
The difference is that those champions are based on using their spells while Quinn is an auto attacker.
The first three champion ult ison an extremely low cd which they can swap at will. Quinn old ult was wierd excute with crappy swap system(you cd don't change when you switch) plus their wasn't any meaningful combat stat buff like gnar.
Not to mention how badly her ult desynergies with her kit.
It could've worked if Valor had his own spells and they shifted her strengths more towards 'assassin' than marksman/ADC. Instead they decided to just remove Valor altogether though, which is what stings the most about her update. Becoming a swift melee assassin with the press of a button was really one of the most fun and exhilarating moments in League for me.
well her ult did alot more had alot better scaling and was used as an assassinate against champs like leblanc, I used to use it alot to just press R after she escapes. my biggest issue was the recall bug currently on heartseeker quinn don't know if it's still active or not and that it's movements are really buggy if you have homeguards, mainly a clipping issue where quinn will get to far ahead of valor.
She can still use her ult to assassinate, that's all that remains from her old ult and honestly all that was actually usefull. I only remember using it to run away tbh.
You swapped to Valor with her old ult when you saw an enemy ADC farming a lane.
You'd auto-win vs them with your Teemo blind and perma 80% attack speed.
But yeah, she was shit in teamfights
which she can still do. The assassination part is pretty much all that remains from her old ult. which is why i think it doesn't really matter. Riot could have just aswel kept the transformation, it's just a matter of animations honestly.
I've missed Quinn's old Ultimate since it got reworked.
Riot ruined that champion.
I never new
had a "old" ultimate and omf it looks cool!!!! quinn kinda sucks now tbh :/
She hasn't been strong since duskblade was buffed
No real reason to pick her when you can pick
and do better
Her old ult was so fun to use, the only issue was that late game is didn't work out well since diving into a team as an adc would get you killed, and early game the cooldown was so long
For this reason they reworked it, but the new ult is just trash
quinn serves as a roaming adc. hes more of a 1v5 sneaky sneakster.
she's, read her lore sometime it's really quite interesting she got valor after helping save Sona's adoptive mother's life.
he's was referring to Twitch
They should VGU Quinn into one of those flying Demacian cavalry people riding giant birds.
I liked her play style and her ultimate way more back then. I feel like most all of the remakes missed the mark significantly. Even the new sion (who I think is pretty cool and innovative). Does anyone remember that point and click stun and massive amounts of lifesteal.
To be fair, I think Sion is better off now XD
I loved the old Sion but I realize it wasn't good to have.
I'm inclined to agree with you. However I feel like new sion should've been a new champion altogether, and they could've made sion similar in gameplay to what he was in a less lunatic kit. Idk. They did do a great job I just don't feel it does service to his original kit.
They are batting 50/50 imho with doing service to the original kit Here are some fails
Sion - Burst mage/hypercarry adc = tank Poppy - Hyper carry assassin = tank Galio - control/battle mage = tank Karma - Extremely unique mage = generic support mage thing type of champion. Dont even know what she is really. Sona - battle support who relied on buffing allies = generic heal bot with shitty bases
And here are some good ones. Urgot - ranged bruiser (most used term for him in season 1/2 = to a ranged juggernaut Warwick - Wolf man bruiser = mechanical wolf bruiser first ryze rework was good. second was meh (both champs are bad because of instant cast root) kat jax shyvanna
All of these kept the original kit mostly tho. Sept second ryze rework and urgot and warwick.
All of this is personal opinion tho.
200% agree. Actually, make it 20000000% agree.
Who, in the design team, thought it made sense for Valor to randomly change from normal bird size to giant bird size??? And then they say they care about lore.... Valor changing size at random really pulls me off the atmosphere, to the point I haven't been played Quinn since her ult rework.
But it's okay that Galio, a giant, animate, magical statue, large enough to pick up Lux in one hand is barely larger than a regular human in game? You're picking an odd line in the sand.
That's resizing for gameplay purpose. Very different than Valor's case.
I loved to play Assassin Valor :)
The best part is how shit the animation they did for it is
she ain't even being held by the bird on most skins
I loved being a bird.
Play her top lane not as adc. Fuck a tp bring ignite or exaust. Out roam enemy laner to mid lane or invade enemy jg w her and your jgler.
Quinn used to have multiple combos tied to her Ultimate. Now she has a very simple 1 and that's the only combo she has up her sleeve. Quinn also use to have a much clearer focus and was a fun champion.
Now Quinn is toxic to balance and very boring to play.
See, I’m not gonna lie, I’m in the “New Quinn” camp. I tried playing her as old Quinn and found her incohesive and confusing. You build items that benefit you as a kiting marksmen only to have an ult that completely throws that out the window.
Now, she’s a high mobility, high damage potential marksmen than assassinate a single target even faster that Twitch can and has decent self peel.
I remember. If they introduced her old kit again, I think she'd be stronger than she already is due to the attack speed buff and blind. However, what I am most dissapointed by is how awesome her initial concept art was, and how all we got was a sub-par realization of what it was.
I speak of this. http://cdn.escapistmagazine.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/658/658079.jpg
I think if they reverted it, she would be even worse, as now if you dive in you can't blind your target, only reduce their visions, which means they will still hit you
I was implying they would bring back the old blind.
I actually love Quinn's new ultimate. It has a more versatile gameplay element, and it feels amazing to zoom around at 700 movespeed.
I mean you where able to do that before it's just now it has such little damage compared to the old one, and I don't know if you read her old lore which is very in-depth to the lore of LoL, her and her brother become soldiers after seeing Jarvan the 3rd coming through the town on a military parade and recieved training from their mother who was an uwendale ranger taught them how to track animals in the forest and how to shoot. Anyhow's a long way down the line the buvelle family is hunting up in the mountains of uwendale and caleb (quinn's brother) jumped in front of a tuskvore to save the Lestara Buvelle's (Sona's adoptive mother) life and after paying for caleb's funeral and leaving quinn fell into depression after caleb died and one day while on her patrol through the woods she encountered a wounded azurite eagle (valor) which she nursed back to health. Even in the lore journal pages where quinn fought talon valor was attacking as well which is why i prefer being able to attack as valor.
That's her new lore...quinn wasn't part the list of champion that had old lore.
Also Valor was just an crappy ultimated, since I don't think you get your cd reset when you turn into valor. The aoe damage was nice but most people end up using the mobility more
sorry I figured by now it got replaced with that tiny little snippet that is useless to describing the champ that some have now.
You mean the in game client descriptions? Most of the lore are located at the universe page if you actually want to read the lore.
Well she dealt insane dps and could duel like a good
How's that different than 90% of assassins?
I legit had forgotten what her ultimate was, so probably not, the current one fits better.

Tag Team
Tag Team
First Cast: Quinn leaps away from the battlefield and allows Valor to take her place briefly. Valor functions as a mobile melee attacker and gains a huge Movement Speed bonus when out of combat. This bonus is decreased gradually to a smaller value when in combat.
Second Cast (Skystrike.png Skystrike): Valor flies from the battlefield, allowing Quinn to return in a hail of bolts that damage all nearby enemies. Damage is increased based on how much health targets are missing. If Tag Team is not cast a second time, Skystrike is cast automatically once Tag Team ends.
It was her old ultimate .
:( so much.
It was hilarious, but also really wierd from a gameplay perspective. Sure, let's make the squishy adc a melee champion, because that is undoubtely going to work
Lets make the squishy long range poke champion also turn into an assassin
