Ivern Bot lane support?

I'm curious what people think about this and if it's been put to the test yet or not. I'm a support main, and I like the looks of Iverns kit. I mean Riot even described him as a "support jungler," but my least favorite role is in fact jungle. I was just kinda wondering if he lends himself enough to being a regular bot lane support. Figure you can do a normal support build and just take smite/exhaust for summoners. Once you reach level five roam and get your adc a quick and easy red buff (provided the jungler doesn't throw a fit over you taking it.)

Thoughts?

I dunno if smite/exhaust is the best summoners to take on support ivern. however i am sure it can work.

My logic for smite is just so you can get your adc the buff really quickly... late game you can use it as a backup objective securing tool if jungler mistimes it or something. I run heal/exhaust on Soraka so I'm used to going without flash.

i really feel Ivern + Caitlyn would be pure fucking cancer, more than the fucking bitch already is. Ivern makes bushes Caitlyn gets 2 stacks from shooting from brush. Play super safe, freeze lane, let her farm, and then murder everything late game because how caitlyn can do the job of a zone mage with 1 ability that costs fucking nothing, can't be destroyed so you have to take it or live in the boxed in hell, with all the farm and no weakness.

From what I've seen the only real threat he poses in lane is from his ult, without it he is pretty useless. He's a support jungler because his utility is potentially very high not because he can/should support or jungle.
