Trinity Force only has 20% critical strike chance and so it is the only fully upgraded item which won't reach 30% crit to ultimately give the full cdr benefits of Essence Reaver.

Essence Reaver is made to support the ad casters of the League and Trinity Force is a staple item of an ad caster build but when used together the synergy between the two items is gimped. When considering how Casters like and won't be buying another zeal item after getting Reaver Force (copyright pending) because these champions naturally don't synergize with attack speed as much as other marksmen you have to feel as though there is a new gap in ad itemization. To get the remaining cooldown reduction these champions are essentially forced to get , , or crit/cdr runes to compensate.

It's a real shame that and its natural synergy with critical strike items such as , , , and now favor marksmen who primarily auto attack because aa-focused champions, by nature, don't need the mana sustain like a caster does.
