My friend who is a former Yasuo main said something interesting yesterday...

Melledoneus··8 votes·1,328 views

After going 0/4 in lane, the enemy Yasuo went bot lane and got fed by solo diving our ADC at full health while missing all of his Q's, and killing them in a matter of seconds. He then proceeded to go 7/4 within the next few minutes. My friend was baffled, asking, "So, can anybody just pick up Yasuo and get fed as him?"

It really made me think, because I remember when Yasuo required skill and calculation to play. You needed to survive in lane against poke and CC to win. Now, all people do is go ham and come out on top as Yasuo because they bought Phantom Dancer. Yasuo gets near-instant access to AoE damage and CC by chaining Q's and auto attacks together, and he can solo jump in on your entire team at times and mess up your carries big time, even if dies in the process.

I don't remember Yasuo being this annoying.

I remember Hashinshin saying on stream that all you need to do on Yasuo is Press E + Q on the enemy toplaner whenever you can (aka the E timer wears off) And mentioned ''why would you play Renekton if you can play Yasuo, and do the exact same without falling off?''

Which made me think... Yasuo's trading combo: Dash in, Knockup, use passive/Windwall to avoid damage, dash out Renektons Trading combo: Dash in, Stun, heal, dash out.

Yeah...

Has Yasuo always been like this? I feel like he used to be much weaker in the top lane.

he wasn't as popular in the top lane in his early days. he got popular from pro players playing him up there. And the new alternative builds that came out proved to be significantly better than the original Statik/IE build. The rework of Phantom Dancer made it a must in S6. And his well-rounded kit allows him to be overbearing for most top laners, and the lane is safer than mid so its easier to go in for solo kills or hard trades as junglers rarely focus on sticking around top.

I think keystones helped him out a lot He has always been a dominant laner though. But it used to be a midlaner's concern....

Renekton can do that indiscriminately, while Yasuo can't get neither knockup ready or dash out, when zoned even slightly.

Sahn Uzal2 votes

Him zoning the other guy seems more likely to me.

That's how back in the day Riven could lose to Vlad.

By playing like a scared 'lil bitch the whole time.

That's how people lose to Yasuo right now. "Ohmigud, he picked Yasuo, I can NEVER possibly attack him, because he's so OP, he will OHK me, my family and my friend's friend's cousin's mother's dog."

If you get zoned by Yasuo, you deserve to lose.

Only that its true and he will destroy 90% of champions if you try to zone him. Just nerf the piece of shit like every other 40% pick rate with positive win rate in lol history so that we can finally have our game back. Last 2 months I had Yasuo in 80% of my games and I am sick of it. Everyone is.

I'm not, because he's free ELO to play against, if you have any kind of health brain tissue in your skull.

90%? 90%.

Lolno.

Just nerf the piece of shit like every other 40% pick rate with positive win rate in lol history so that we can finally have our game back

We did it, boys. The game is finally balanced, because there are literally ZERO champions with 40% pickrate.

Just admit that you are pathetic Yasuo main trying desperately to defent him with dozens of posts on this forum, you are everywhere. WE ALL HATE YOU. STOP PLAYING THAT TRASH!

Btw your low elo champ has 57% win rate IN DIAMOND WITH A HIGHEST PICK RATE. Better call everyone who hates your freelo bronze.

Vistha Kai1 votes

I lied to you. Yes, I'm a filthy Yasuo main and he is freelo champ even in Diamond with the highest pickrate. You and everybody else have my deepest apologies.

OH WAIT!

He has neither 57% winrate, nor the highest pickrate and I'm not a Yasuo main either, as I only played 14 ranked matches with Yasuo... out of 331 this season.

Check your facts before making a fool of yourself.

PS. For some reason Yasuo has merely 47.5% winrate in Korean Diamond. Maybe I'm not that wrong about Yasuo, eh?

105 damage from a stacked E at rank 1. 1 AA instantly going off because its not on cooldown. Instantly followed by a Q that deals 100% AD + 20 at rank one. Windwall blocking whatever projectiles you throw at them, assuming you can get through his 100 damage (at level 1) shield. Add fervor on top of that.

Aaaand then he dashes to safety.

Yasuo's early game is a pain to deal with. Not nearly as much as Renektons, but unlike Renekton, Yasuo doesn't fall off.

The only way he could've done that is if your adc was afk, and his team had an ohmwrecker to stop the turret

Melledoneus2 votes

Well, turrets being as reliable as they are, aggro didn't kick in until the Yasuo had nearly killed our ADC.

As a Yasuo main, I dislike how he's Flavor of the Month, for the following reasons:

  • He's practically begging to be nerfed
  • If I don't do good at him (he's relatively inconsistent), I'm flamed for being bad even though I've mained him for almost a year and a half, with almost 300k mastery points on him
  • I get constant death threats just for playing him

Death threats. For playing a champion I enjoy playing.

That's not healthy at all.

The worst part is that he used to be much more manageable. Now he's simply a better renekton.

Two words can explain why hes so strong.

Tank Meta

build FM, Titanic, and basically any "damage" tank items and you will murder everyone. The problem isn't yasuo...

Ralanr2 votes

The problem is all the free damage you get that allows you to build tank without sacrificing much.

Marshbouy4 votes

Bruiser/carry Meta

fixed it.

Snowball4u1 votes

Tru tru

although its still tank meta cuz all they do is build TANK and still do 100k damage

Marshbouy4 votes

no. they build bruiser

I always refer to that ZzLegendary video where he dodges an entire Zed combo as Kalista but then gets auto'd once and dies (It was old Youmuus so he got a crit)

Vistha Kai1 votes

So... where's that referral?

Vistha Kai1 votes

I still fail to see why people would find PD problematic on Yasuo.

He trades a lot of damage for defense, so what's the problem?

It's not like he's magically unkillable, because of it and the situation described (diving a full HP ADC head on, with one item providing 0 defense against the tower, missing over half the damage, surviving and killing the ADC) is blown out of proportion. A lot.

The ADC would quite literally have to stand still with auto attacks turned off and maaaaybe then I'd see it happening.

amazinick12131 votes

Ok, I'm not trying to disagree but one thing... I can tell you exaggerated. Unless he had an item 3056 or something. There is no way yasuo can dive someone at full health while missing every Q.

Melledoneus1 votes

I answered this question above.

Yasuo became busted as soon as Season 6 started. This is OLD NEWS.

In S5 i would try him out, get no kills.

In S6, i miss everything and E aa and somehow get a kill. I still don't get fed, but he certainly is in a spot like Riven was last year. Where anyone can just pick him up and get fed after feeding hell of hard. Back then as Riven i will got 0/5 and somehow turn it around, but now it seems Yasuo is in the same spot where you get away with the same thing.
