ziggs seems all around significantly better than velkoz, is this true?

i just saw a ziggs vs velkoz matchup and it occurred to me that ziggs is both easier to play and more effective, i cant really see a reason to pick vel over ziggs in most cases, is that correct? I mean they both have long ranged q's and while vels is longer, ziggs is aoe and can be aimed more easily. They both have gtaoe's and while ziggs is smaller it is also stronger. They also both have knocks but ziggs can also execute towers and jump from his. Ziggs ult has way more range and much more reliable damage than velkoz's.

Vel'koz has way more burst dmg, a full round of spells from ziggs hurts but probably won't one shot you, velkoz can throw down a ewr combo and 100-0 you

Ziggs overall, in my opinion is easier to use in teamfight. Vel koz r can be stopped very easy even by ziggs w. In late game Ziggs can nuke 1v5, vel koz can too but its much harder to land your all skills with ultimate, everyone has to stay in 1 lane while with ziggs u can throw almost 1.5k dmg ult in late game and your other aoe abilities, thats why ziggs has an advantage there. If enemy has tanky champions like nasus,garen,darius take vel koz to melt them down with your true dmg, they will just cry a river when they will meet u lmao.

Vel koz > Ziggs Better push early, less mana hungry at early game. Ziggs >vel koz tower pushing Vel koz> Ziggs - Better in melting tanky targets, Ziggs> Vel koz - overall can deal more dmg in teamfight and faster with lower risk. vel koz> Ziggs - in my opinion better early. Vel koz=> Ziggs mid game , a little advantage of vel koz, but it is dissapearing fast. Ziggs> Vel koz - better late.

Overall both of them are used, in the different games and situations. They have advantages and weakness. I cant really tell u who is harder to play , i play both of them, and i can say that with vel koz q is easier to poke someone than with ziggs. But in teamfights its much harder to find a good position to press r as velkoz because u can be chased by assassin or tank, while ziggs just pop off everything he has and goes away.

As a Vel'Koz main, it depends on how you play the champion. Vel and Ziggs are a 50/50. They have their uses. Vel'Koz is a melting artillery when it comes to kills while Ziggs is an artillery that can melt turrets well.

Ziggs has escapes while vel doesn't, but Vel'Koz is a true damage monster with a very terrifying ulti (that's even more terrifying if used on a passive proced enemy).

Ziggs' abilities don't really get minion blocked and has a decent range and can execute turrets when low enough, while Vel'Koz's abilities can be nerve racking (his Q can be used geometrically after all. So mind games basically) and each ability is 1 step closer to make his ulti from scary to terrifying.

Wrong. Ziggs is really weak compared to other artillery mages. His damage is too unreliable and his tower execution is useless when towers are already made of paper. That's why no one plays him because there is no reason to pick him over Lux Velkoz Xerath .

Ziggs is much harder to play

And he does nothing but poking for him to actually kill His Ult is kinda what makes him special

Vel overall is a better champion and much easier to play

velkoz has true damage which is efficent vs fighter types who only stack hp/armor but weak vs juggernauts.while ziggs basically whittles down targets squishy mainly siege style.

vel koz is closer to a battle mage then ziggs is since his skillshots are quickcast/efficent. while ziggs has the NUKE ult with hyper range/mobility advantage.

Ziggs main here... my thoughts.

Ziggs has better :

mobility/escape poke during lane phase tower siege

Velkoz has better :

catch potential CC quicker Burst damage on Tankier targets Easier to land abilities

Ziggs requires much better ability placement to maximize his damage, which can make his ability to do damage drastically vary per fight, even if he is fed. Example: Amount of mines that hit target , area of ult the target gets hit with.

Velkoz can lay his damage down easier under duress, and is slightly more reliant per fight.

Velkoz is harder to itemize vs. He can fit into teamcomps that ziggs would be a weaker option.

Ziggs has an arguably better lane phase by virtue of a reliable escape and tower damage interactions of his passive and W.

I think Xerath is still one of the best Long range mages as his QW and R all effectively function as delayed hit scan.

You can buy MR and laugh at ziggs face. Do that to velkoz and u get 35% of your life as true damage xD
