PSA: A teammate's poor performance doesn't make you blameless
I recently supported this Caitlyn. She was bad. REALLY bad. 37% winrate in 60 Caitlyn games, bad. I think she didn't really have adc mechanics down. (She's in my elo because she has a 59% winrate on brand in 180 games).
That's not the point.
Fast forward about 10 minutes into the game and we've fed their jinx-sion bot a couple of kills. That's when our Kha, who was doing very well (3-1-2, iirc), ganks bot and observes that Cait has no mechanics.
Freeze frame
There's two ways you can deal with a bad teammate.
- You can figure out who can carry (maybe just you), and get them fed. You can notice that their jinx also has bad positioning and little peel. You can ask your mid laner to come 4-man bot to get the shutdown.
- You can tilt, take bad fights, stop looking for picks on priority targets.
I know, our Cait was deadweight. When she wins, she's getting carried. But she still wins 37% of the time. You could make this one of the 37%.
You're our best and most fed player -- when you let yourself get tilted, you are throwing out that 37% chance of winning.
Not cait. You.
Some games you carry. Some games you get carried.
So when nobody else on your team is capable of carrying, keep your head on straight and do your best to put us in your backpack, and we'll try to support you. Please. Because throwing out our last chance at victory... that's not cool.
