A suggestion to improve the Inspiration mastery: Multiply it by the difference in level

The Inspiration mastery is seen by many as a trap mastery, in that it provides pretty much no real benefit. I'd have to agree with that sentiment; the mastery is pretty crappy. 10 experience every 10 seconds? Past level 6, that's kinda useless.

To make it actually useful when you fall behind, I think it needs two things.

  1. Change it to give EXP every second, not every 10 seconds (same amount per 10 seconds, but just more frequently). The timer seems to reset if you move too far away from teammates, spoiling its effect, so this change would make it actually work properly.

  2. Make the EXP gained multiply by the difference in your level vs your ally's level. For instance, if you were level 10 and your teammate is level 12, you would get 20 EXP every 10 seconds. This would be capped at a X3 multiplier, and would take into account the highest-leveled ally near to you.

Would this help, or is the aforementioned mastery just in need of a rework?

Just so you know, Inspiration actually gives 5 experience per 10 seconds. In addition, assuming it works like Health/Mana regeneration, the experience I believe comes every second, even though it says 5 experience per 10 seconds, it will come 0/1 per second, depending on the timing the experience comes in.

I think the mastery was designed more so that supports can roam and stuff without being at a huge level disadvantage in lane, not so much if you are behind in lane and such.
