With how you get a free ward every minute from Greater Stealth Totem, Sightstone and Ruby Sightstone feel really inadequate right now since their users have to return to base to get new wards, while trinket-users don't. If SS and RSS could have some means of recharging in the field, that'd be great.
However, I suspect that if such a change were going to be made, it'd have been done already. So why hasn't it?

They could make it one charge per 2-3 min, plus the instant refill on recall. But probably the answer is that they don't have a problem with it the way it is; you can have a sightstone and a trinket, giving you much bigger influence on vision than just a trinket.
