A "Who's Who" table of champs' viability rank at what ELOs

Occams Raiser··2 votes·1,144 views

I use to play Corkie and I loved him. They nerfed him once. I played. They nerfed him twice, I played a little less. Third time was like, "I guess they don't want me to play him". You win RIOT, I can take a hint. But before the last nerf, pros were making use of him. I know pros can do a lot with a little in situational picks. But since the majority of LOL community takes place in bronze - gold, I would like to see a table of what champs people think are viable at what skill levels. I have never lost a lane or game to a team with Janna on it. She seems like shit to me but She was on a championship team if I am correct.

I would like to see it like : Champ X: Bronze- weak, Silver- weak, Gold and up- Strong Or Champ A: Bronze- Strong, Silver- Strong, Gold and up- Strong

Based on votes from summoners of that rank. I realize what Pros do might as well be another game being played for some champs. I have seen some cool stuff from Diamond up but what do you think? Should gold and below be looking at certain champs to get them to the next division just by imitating the the higher ups?

on this note, it kinda irks me when people waste bans on "pro bans" in bronze too.

like really, we need to ban pubstompers and hypercarries like yas, yi, kat, vayne etc.

we don't need to ban janna, or corki, or nasus, etc because the chance of a bronzie like me facing a good one is unlikely.

however everyones always like "erhmehgerd don't waste a ban on yi" 20 mins later "erhmehgerd yi so OP" when hes getting a triple every teamfight from that point on.

I agree with a lot of what you say but the majority of the community is Pub. Have of us are bronze and silver. So Nasus and Kat probably need to be banned.

At low levels, copying the pros will just result in failure. At below platinum range its best to use who you are personally best with.

Most of the stuff the pros do is not actually easy to make work, or the champions they pick work because they form the team comp around them instead of just blindly picking them.

Agreed. Until you get a team of regulars leave that crack alone. Stick to what is god tier for your div. NOT THEIRS.

Also no bronze player should be looking at any lists of "this champ counters this champ" or any kind of FOTM champ list.

At the bronze level knowledge of the champ you are playing means so much more than many players realize. I've had to play with someone who chooses a champ and then tells me "first time X". Over the weekend I was 0-8 in that kind of match.

And I don't do that to my teammates. I have a rotation of about 8 champs I play based on lane and team needs. I have another 6 I can play if absolutely necessary that I am familiar with, but not strong on. If I can't play one of those, I'm not offering anything to my team.

But when you end up with "First time Quinn ADC" "First time Nidalee and going to bot lane" (as ADC) "First time Teemo" (to counter a Garen). You end up losing far too many games.

When I hear "first time" anything I hear "I'll be trolling this evening." The first time i play a champ in game with others is not the first time I have worked on that champ's mechanics.

I have thought about this too. It'd be a good thing to see I think as being in Bronze myself it gets very confusing hearing about how Yi and Kat are generally easily countered feeders when they consistently rip through bronze like it is paper.

Yet Irelia is meant to be pretty awesome right now yet most that I come across would struggle to feed any more than they already do.

I've experienced that disparity firsthand. I'm unranked but have a friend with Plat MMR. When I play Yi by myself I can sometimes rip through people, but when I play with my friend I'm way more likely to feed. But when I play my mains (mages such as xerath) I don't usually feed even with playing with that friend.

The difference is that people know how to blow up Yi and Katarina quickly when they jump into melee range. Tanks know how to keep them away from the damage dealers, and the damage dealers know how to take advantage of that.

The lower you go in skill, the less it's strategy and more it's just who can do the most damage just by clicking on people, so champs like Yi are better at low levels.

True. When I started playing, I was fearful of Yi I would see him tear through teams. Now Vi holds the title of assclownery. She seems invincible sometimes. Jump into your squad and come out with a triple or quad. And I didn't say limp out..... she walks out with half health. People ban jarvan a lot. I don't see it. I kill Jarvan like he made that bowl for me. Of course I am usually playing a mage and bronzies don't build MR. That is actually why Kat is so deadly. in bronze it is a race to full build. What are you building? "Duh, what I always build. Who cares if Kat has 4 Items completed."

if that kat builds something like sorcs + abyssal + some ap item + void staff gg your mr items

You are think of building after the fact. If you build to her, she wont have the gold to build all that. A stun on your team helps. In ranked it not a surprise if she is picked. I have never seen her go un-banned. If she does get through, picks some stunners. If you don't you never wanted to win in the first place.

  1. you didn't ban her.
  2. they picked her.
  3. You didn't pick any stunners.
  4. Your team took no precautions to shut her down early.
  5. Your team didn't build MR.
  6. Your team fed her. This is Kat. That is a lot of fail.

janna is amazing what are talking about -_-

Occams Raiser1 votes

Your words are my whole point. I am just telling you there are certain champs that when I see them on the enemy side, I know my side has won. Unless there is a team breakdown, losing to this champ in lane and more than likely to the whole game, isn't going to happen. Janna is one of the champs I fear in the least. I fear Blitz cause I know more than likely my team fears him. I know to punish him on every cooldown. There are some you fear and some you respect.

mvargus1 votes

You obviously haven't faced any good Jannas. A good one can make it so their ADC dominates in lane and then she shines in team fights using her ult to force mass disengages.

I play her and if I lose lane its because my ADC is positioning poorly or going all in when they have already been poked to less than 50% health. (I do poke aggressively as Janna and will spam my shield on my ADC if they are pushing hard, but if they are getting grabbed by Blitz/Thresh every 15 seconds because they aren't paying attention, eventually they'll get killed even if I take a few grabs trying to keep them alive.)

I have seen one good one now that I think about it. There was one that did beat me and my adc out of lane. On that occasion my adc didn't make an attempt to do dodge any skill shots so i assumed he was troll. I can't remember if we won or not. I have seen videos of good Jannas but the were ranked and you know people only post their wins. The Janna I faced was accompanied by Tris the new lane bully.

I play Anivia Nautilus and Zyra

Occams Raiser1 votes

I like Naut too. I found problems using Anivia cause lots of adc like to use poke champs like Cait.

Occams Raiser1 votes

They want to rise. They have seen those videos on how to win ranked games. PLAY BULLIES. And it is true for the most part. You want a fun off meta game, play normals.I'm afraid.

OperationDEEZ11 votes

Erm, it's even worse in normals.

i like to ban blitz (can win bot lane hard, very annoying during teamfights), lb and somebody who my team requests/i know enemy can play (after somebody dodged) or some random champ like zed or vi, it's if i want to pick kat, otherwise it's usually blitz, lb and kat

yi, trynd, fiora, vayne etc are strong but they are not that bad if anything gp can get just as strong as them, would you ban gp?
