Adaptive Helm is WAY to weak

item 3194 passive should be changed to, "Taking Magic Damage reduces incoming Magic Damage by X% for X Seconds" thinking like 10% for 5s, with a CD of 10-15 seconds.

Making it actually useful, cause as it is now the only time it even has any affect is on DoT spells and spells with a CD lower than 4 seconds (which are few and far between). The only champion I would ever buy this against is Cassiopeia . Or a team consisting of a lot of Magic DoTs, which is even more rare.

Why do you even need it, item 1054 makes every DoT mage in the game useless already

Why would Dorans Shield make every dot mage useless. It restorest 10hp over 10 sec= 2 Health per second. Are u saying 2 health per sec regen counters DOTs?

the DoT refreshes it, so your reg 2HP/s for the duration of the DoT + 10s, its much stronger vs DoT than single hit spells

Well its no different fromitem 3194 since it increases base health regen which brings it to similar hp/s

i agree its too weak. but i dont think that is the solution.. there are a LOT of burst mages that your version of the item would completely shut down. and burst mages already have a hard enough time taking down tanks..

and i agree champs like Cassiopeia are an issue and this would be a good item vs them.. but it also had to be done in such a way that it does NOR runit burst mages that use ALL thier abilities on you at once.. and a way that it wouldnt ruin ground effect DOT like Ziggs which already have wording to make them take less damage with subsequent hits, or ability like Syndra ulti which is ONE spell but is coded as multiple hits.

it should be balanced towrd effect specifically like Cassiopeia and Ryze who SPAM spells and them have thier effect increase to like 30-40 %. and not again a single spell that hits more than once or mages that use all their abilities at once and make them all go on cooldown

my version gives burst mages some counter-play, you can easily land 1 spell let the duration where off then burst them. current version has no counter play, its simply useless vs anything but DoT and broken vs DoT. and Riot has been slowly nerfing most DoT spells. take Swains E for example.

that is the point of the item, it's not meant to be used against all mages just against those with low CDs and DoTs

actually adaptive helmet reduces ANY Magic damage ticks from same spells within those 4 seconds. those include the 2nd tick from anivia Q, every tick from anivia R, singeds Poison, syndra's ult, ziggs' minefield, Xerath's ultimate, kassadin ultimate, velkoz W and ultimate (the Magic damage parts that is) galio's Q Tornado, diana's passive, R dashes and W orbs, akali ultimate dashes, Katarina daggers and ultimate and so the fking on. even average damage sources like gromp damage, and even itemspecific damage like the onhit from rageblade.

the item reduces all oncoming damage from the same source, not just the same spell. means if you spamm that one same spell again and again it's damage gets greatly reduced with time, but that does not affect other spells, and it does affect other sources entirely.

it just feels specific because people don't usually blast out all their spells as much as they can due to mana issues. but it's use ranges into EVERY ap champion and every ap based form of damage that can be applied multiple times within a short window of time.

that's my results from practice tool and Research mixed with a bit wishful thinking.
