Buffing Tryndamere's numbers to offset how powerful Randuins is against him won't work & here is why

Yeah yeah I know, stop complaining because Tryndamere is super toxic.

Hell I've got thousands of games on Trynd and even I believe he needs a rework, and here is a thread I've made on that very topic: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/vWjlTqrP-trynd-should-be-a-slow-attacking-heavy-hitting-skirmisher-who-is-practical-in-team-fights

Never mind all of that though. Yes he needs a rework, but that is aside from the point-- there shouldn't be a champion who is so linear, and an item that is so specifically strong against that very particular linear pattern that the champion can be completely defeated with the purchase of that one item. I believe, rework or not, RIOT doesn't want any champion to be unplayable, so they will just buff Tryndamere if randuins omen as is makes him too impractical. But I don't think buffing Tryndamere's numbers will actually work, and here is my reasoning:

Randuins omen is fairly good against champions that build lots of crit chance, but most champions who do that do not have to hit the randuins wearer, for instance marksmen have the range to generally hit whatever they want within that range and only have reason to hit the randuins wearer when nothing else is around. Yasuo also has a lot of crit innately but his mobility and ultimate allows him to target whatever he wants, so frequently the randuins isn't doing a lot of work for the tank who purchased it.

Tryndamere on the other hand can't really team fight that well, so he is often forced to split push, especially if the enemy has a strong front line. And yet, the very item that makes a front line strong from Tryndamere's perspective (randuins omen) also makes them crazy difficult to deal with as Tryndamere. Its so hard to actually split against someone with randuins omen because the damage reduction and attack speed slow isn't balanced around the notion that someone who relies on crit would be forced to consistently and perpetually hit the randuins wearer many many times during the course of a split push.

And Tryndamere isn't balanced around the idea that his opponent will always effectively 32% damage reduction from the two passives on randuins omen-- you can't expect a balanced Tryndamere that way. A 32% damage reduction basically means Tryndamere is doing 2/3rds of his normal damage, so he would have to see a 3/2 damage buff from his gear to bring it back to unity. From Tryndamere's perspective if the enemy has randuins omen he does X damage, and if they don't he does 50% more than X damage. Think about that for a second. 50% more. 50%. That is just the two passives, not the armor or health.

Thats nuts.

I see two possibilities:

Tryndamere with high raw power: RIOT wants Tryndamere to autowin against the enemy when they don't have a randuins omen wearer, stomp absolutely anyone who doesn't have randuins omen into the dirt, and be playable against the guy who has it.

Tryndamere with low raw power: RIOT wants Tryndamere to have a big advantage against the enemy when they don't have a randuins omen wearer, smash pretty much anyone who doesn't have it, and be unplayable against the guy who has it.

The first option just makes the game feel worse overall because it means anyone playing against Tryndamere essentially has 5 item slots instead of 6, because they are absolutely forced to build randuins omen. It also means that the raw amount of power he has to have to stay even with the randuins wearer means he is completely absurd against anyone else, perhaps absurd enough to bullshit his way through a team fight (he definitely isn't supposed to have that much raw power given his current kit)

The second option essentially makes Tryndamere unplayable as a champion, because anyone would gladly buy a single item if it meant making the game basically a 4v5. It doesn't really matter from Tryndamere's perspective if he's got even a significant advantage against all the non randuins wearers, because his team fighting ability is just so crappy-- he normally isn't going to be able to hit the people he wants to hit, he has to split push because his kit (in the context of the rest of the game) doesn't give him what he needs to do anything other than split push, atleast not with any level of reliability. And even with the impressive damage versus the non randuins wearers, there are plenty of better choices for killing stragglers or assassinating lone targets who are wandering around-- like any dedicated assassin or master yi for instance.

The thing is I don't think the middle ground is stable. If Tryndamere can do nothing else but split push because the enemy front line is too big from his perspective, then he will have to be strong enough to 1v1 any randuins wearer in the top lane during a split push or else he will be unplayable. If he's strong enough to do that from just sheer stats, then the raw amount of power he would have to have would make it so that he could bullshit through a team fight and his weaknesses because he would have to hit absurdly absurdly absurdly hard. But then he's too strong, so he'd have to be nerfed, but if you nerf his raw stats then he becomes unplayable again. See the problem?

50% is too damn wide. It needs to shrink, and I don't suggest nerfing randuins. I suggest that whatever buff Tryndamere has to receive to shore up his glaring weakness to Randuins omen, it not push him over the edge versus anyone who doesn't have it and doesn't make the randuins wearer feel like there was no point in buying randuins against Trynd.

Here would be an example buff that would make sense, assuming Tryndamere starts to underperform:

Each subsequent critical strike against the same target increases his critical strike damage against that target by 10% for 4 seconds, stacking up to 10 times. The fact that he would have to crit the same guy that many times to see a benefit means it doesn't make his trades substantially stronger in the laning phase, isn't really practical in a team fight because he will be peeled long before he can get a significant number of stacks, doesn't make him a better squishy killer, and pretty much just makes him better in a duel against someone burly enough to take the hits-- in other words a randuins wearer in a split push.

It doesn't make Tryndamere super great against champions like nasus or malphite either, because the attack speed slows will keep him from accumulating stacks in the time that he needs to. His damage is backloaded until he's built up stacks on the guy he's hitting, and by then he's likely been forced very low or forced to ult, which is generally the pattern against most of his matchups anyway, so the actual nature of his matchups doesn't change either. It also means randuins is still a good purchase against Tryndamere because it causes him to build stacks slower and makes his critical strikes, stacked up or not, just hurt less.

uhh tryn has always been weak against certain items, like frozen heart is usually enough.. randuins, thornmail.. they were all enough
