Am I not a person because I don't have big enough of a brain to see the point, or even the subject matter, of this thread?
Is this thread about shitting on Akali or shitting on Tyler? I'd love to go to town with the former though.
OP forgot to link the video with a timestamp. Somewhere in the video, tyler says something along the lines of, "The balance team, what were these pe---I won't call them people, because people have brains---but what were they thinking with this champion?"
He's wrong about a lot of things, but I don't think that is one of them...
I play Ekko, TF, Renekton, and Yasuo, so I really couldn't care less about Akali xd

To be fair, Akali inspires a modicum of rage in me as well, with a ten second untargetable shroud...

While I know what you mean, it's not untargetability. It just means you can't do lock-on things like some spells or AA, which is quite BS given the shroud gives true stealth and MS to begin with but I digress, however that bit where you can't click on her is not untargetability; you can still hit her if you can manage to luck-punch her with AoE or skillshots.
With untargetability, it means the unit temporarily ceases to exist in the game when it comes to their calculation even if their models are still on the map. An untargetable unit would be ignored by basically any and all targeting methods in the game, be it lock-on, AoE, skillshots, auto-lock, whatever; hence it's sometimes called a "dodge", as it "dodges" all incoming assaults as long as it has a travel time; untargetability can not dodge spells that have no travel time such as Lulu's Polymorph as it doesn't travel to the opponent and the spell can only be cast if the target is available. Unless it is a delayed spell effect, DoT, or tether, which are applied BEFORE the unit goes into untargetability, they would STAY on the target even if they go into that mode; basically this just means untargetability does not cleanse the spell effects that's ALREADY registered on the target.
The only exception to the targeting logic of untargetability are Ryze's R and Soraka's R, where they would applied to untargetable units all the same no matter what; these 2 exceptions are given probably because they are spells that could only target ally units.
A similar effect to untargetability is called Vanish, is where the unit literally ceases to exist on the map for a short period even visually, such as Master Yi's Q. The gameplay difference with this and untargetability is that when the unit vanishes, they can also not be targeted by Ryze's R or Soraka's R, too.
I'ma still call it untargetability, you cannot reliably do ANYTHING while shes in it because she can still move around and dodge. It's just a shitty ability that should be changed. How is it fair for literally every single other stealth champion to be revealed by those things but not her? Alot of champions don't have the kit or abilities to damage her while inside it, some do but a lot do not. I do not want to be pigeon holed into being forced to play certain champs just because the enemy picked her.

I'm not denying her W is BS, though. I mean I do hate her with a passion after all.
Just that I flied in to correct the bit where, yes, she is not able to be targeted by lock-ons in her shroud, but it's not actually untargetability as the game defines it. Annoying, I know.
Riot should stop making 1-off mechanic, that are often fundamentally broken and clearly overloaded btw, to be used just on 1 champ every time they make a new or rework a champ. What is this, a shitty design club where the rules of consistency never applies, where everything goes to where you conveniently want it to be at the time, and everything is an exception of other exceptions?
