Mordekaiser idea?

It seems like Mordekaiser is suffering only in the gap closing department. Couldn't they just have his Q blink him on the third swing? 1 to proc the target, 2 to seal the target (they flash or gap close away) and you reactivate Q to blink to said sealed target... Just a though..

Give him cc is a better idea, no mobility is his counterplay

that would be a little much, even giving him a stun could shoot morde to the top

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Not saying a stun, but any sort of random cc like a slow that turns into a root if the idiot lets mordekaiser on him for enough time

so you stated Morde's only weakness and decided to completely remove that weakness...that leaves him without any weaknesses.

Give the dude a slow in his kit instead of instant mobility, that way there is some counterplay and Morde isn't gonna be completely reliant on an item that's about to be nerfed soon anyways item 3116

Blinking once hardly makes morde without any weakness. Akali can do it 3+ times. Ahri can dash 3 times. there are dozens more, 1 blink will not make him op, its a quality of life change.

you can't compare 2 extremely squishy champions to Mordekaiser when talking about the mobility department...that just doesn't work.

There are reasons why bruisers aren't given gap closers or any extremely heavy cc...and that's because with it they'd be broken. Darius has a short-range pull and some slows Garen has a speed-up and a silence DrMundo ...goes where he pleases Illaoi Has a delayed slow

The only real exception would maybe be Sion but his weakness is how long his cc takes to apply and how easy it is to avoid

"But Morde is an AP juggernaut" yes, you'd be right, but his kit revolves around the same limitations as any other. Heavy damage threat at the cost of not having huge utility or mobility. Giving him a blink would ruin him, because with item 3116 (even after a nerf) would provide all the stickiness he needs. A blink lasts enough counterplay to justify it

Frankly what he is suggesting isn't a gap closer seeing how it's gated on the premise that you are already in sustained combat

Slythion1 votes

Unless you can use the first 2 on minions then the 3rd as a gap closer.

If not, then a good counterargument would be that Morde's weakness is about getting to his target, not sticking with them so this wouldn't really help Morde that much

Morde is a juggernaut. Juggernauts are defined by their offensive and defensive prowess, in exchange for having nothing in the way of immediate mobility. Giving him a blink like you suggest would leave him without the primary weakness of his class.

What would you suggest then, because everyone here would rather tear down an idea just to tear it down.

SkyblazeHydraX31 votes

Come up with an idea that doesn't violate the intended strengths and weaknesses of the champion, while still being appropriate to their thematic.

Mordepool1 votes

Give morde soft cc. Grounded would be ideal cause it's very satisfying to destroy high mobility asshats who frankly deserve every bit of grief

SkyblazeHydraX31 votes

That could potentially work. But even then he needs something a bit more, because it doesn't stop people from just running away.

Mordepool1 votes

That's his counterplay. Obviously my suggestion is based on the premise that Rylais still exists as is He needs a full overhaul and not by that arrogant prick

I'd rather not talk about a Rioter in such a manner. They're people too, and while they may be flawed, any and every Rioter only has the intention of making the game and its champions better.

Not Lyte, good thing he left.

SkyblazeHydraX31 votes

Even Lyte was trying to make the game a better experience. Whether or not he did so, that's up to the individual.

Good Intentions pave the way to hell

CertainlyT pride and stubborn arrogance ruined Mordekaiser. when met with legitimate concerns about design direction, the overall affect of the Rework and a petition to hold the Rework back for another redesign. He just told us he knew best and we were wrong about our Predictions of OP to over Nerfed to Dumpster.

Is he a person. Sure. but we are defined by our actions ignoring legitimate concerns presented on the PBE shows an unprofessional selfish attitude

I just wanted to point out that everyone here has given a new idea (soft cc) while pointing out what they believe to be flaws in your post. No one has only been "tearing down" your idea without providing their own. I hope you don't think we're being malicious or anything towards you :/
