Can we have Thornmail add grievous wounds to the attacker to make the item viable again?

Why should they, as adc you already need 4 items to counter thornmail. You Need life steal and amor pen. but you also need to get your 2 crit items befor that. So why should you give it grivious wounds. Than as an adc you would never can do something against a tank/bruiser with thornmail, so you Need to be full build to just counter a super cheap item? That would be dumb. Also thornmail is in a pretty good spot atm. Its an item which should counter heavy aa based Champions, so mostly adcs, and thornmail does that job pretty good

Because it's a team based game. It should never be ADC vs the Tank. It should be the team vs the team.

Ok I don't know where this argument underlines any thing You wanted to say but ok. Also yeah league is a team Game, but every role have his job. So the adc should take down the tank with high dps, the assassines should take down the adc with burst/single target one shot and so on

So thronmail is an item to help tanks do something against adcs, so give them some dmg to kill the adc faster than they can kill You. Don't know what that have to be with a team Game or not. It is about builds that helps You in some situations, so thornmail is always a good item against classic crit adcs. They Need, like i said, 4 items to Counter that item, so till that stage this item is strong as f*** but after that it is weak as f***. And that is ok, strong mid Game item but weak late Game item, so with this buff of giving grivous wounds it would also be a strong late Game item. There is no point of doing that

Thornmail is just fine as is, Literally to counter it you need red pot, life steal item more than brk, armor pen, Thats half your build alone, creating grievous wounds on it would make adc's have to double or triple up on life steal items. Not sure why you think its a bad item, its just more of a non mainstream item unless its a heavy AA champ, Ashe, Vayne, Cait, Varus, Jinx, shall I continue as I am sure there are more adcs that would prefer not seeing a thornmail.

The item is fine and you just need to learn to use it properly and or build a bit more efficiently as a tank. Or play Rammus more often with it so you can double thornmail your way to victory.

Adcs are supposed to kill the frontline tho. At least Im not gonna do it as assassin lol.

WHY dont we make 2 thormnails like the last whisper items? One reduces the effects of armor penetration one gives grevious wounds. But both give the dmg dealt back like it does atm

this is an awful idea.

it goes against everything thornmail was created for, thornmail isnt there to deal significant damage back or stop healing, its there to counter lifesteal. This is a recycled post, it would absolutely break thornmail and make multiple champions a huge weight on their team.
