Link me one 2016 Worlds game with a melee mid laner played, just one out of how many? Like.. idk.. a lot of games, lol. Then you can continue complaining about "mages getting nerfed" or ranged **top **laners being too oppressive.

Mage mains don't like to rush any item other than mana regen so they can brainlessly clear waves and fire spells. Mage mains complain about the 100-0 capabilities of assassins, but are silent when Viktor or Cass do the same thing with one more second on the clock.

Mage mains have become the biggest babies league has ever seen.

item 3165 item 3001 item 3070 item 3027 None of these give mana regen, the only one that gives a decent amount of mana regeneration is item 3174 and almost nobody uses it.

Morello's gives 400 mana and restores it on leveling. During the laning phase, that's very good mana regen.

Tear refunds and continually stacks it. It's effectively mana regen.

Rod of Ages has the catalyst passive and gives lots of mana, continually stacking till cap. Again, effectively mana regen.

Abyssal is the only non-mana item there. And, it is taken by assassins only. Mages never rush this item, save maybe to survive against new Leblanc.

Don't be snide, you know very well three of those items fix mana issues. My misuse of the word "regen" doesn't take away from the point.

Lol, alright lets take this a step back right now.

Yeah most of them don't understand shit and bandwagon what the ones that do understand shit say.

The difference between a mage instakilling someone vs a assassin instakilling someone is that you see them coming vs not seeing coming.

Some assassins you can do stuff against, and guess what. Those assassins are hardly played. I don't know the last time I saw a talon played, or a mid akali, mid ekko, etc.

No the only ones that we see played mid anymore are the ones that can full to zero people and be safe. Zed, LeBlanc, Fizz, Ekko, Kassawin.

Assassins can literally just decide to kill you at full and then do it. Where as Mages have to set up or get you into a advantageous position for them. So if you died to Cass or Viktor. It was probably because you were a little too close, or you thought you could fight them and they said no.

Also; assassins still can poke you in lane. Zed has two things that bar him from being unstoppable. High Energy cost Ranks 1 and 2 early game and Cooldowns. Cass has. Must land Q, be in range for E. Mana. And Has to be close.

Sure we kill people nearly at the same speed. But the difference, is counterplay vs little counterplay. The difference is safety vs semisafe.

A mage vs mage match up is whoever is better. A assassin vs assassin match up is whoever is better. A mage vs assassin match up is A: Is the mage just a much better player then the Assassin, then mage wins. B: Are the players on the same skill level. Assassins will win with one to one and a half spell cycles. Also, how many of those meta assassins mid, have real skill shots? Zed's Q? LeBlanc's E? Fizz's R? Ekko's Q? Each have one Skillshot? Which, Zed has Range with W Q. LeBlanc can W away. Fizz's Ulti literally grows in size. And Ekko's Q is just for poke?

So you saying that we are ANYTHING like assassin players makes you very lacking the game knowledge department. Learn the basics of the game and understand why ADC's and Mages hate assassins. They are the class you can't just outplay without being head and shoulders better then them. Every other class has some form of counterplay for mages and adcs.

Assassins became a problem for a while, so they nerfed them. Then buffed them, Then nerfed them, Then now again buffed them.

The only real way of counterplay against an assassin is rolling into mid or late game, where they aren't as prevalent anymore and even then, you ADC and Mid still have to be careful to not be out of position in the slightest.

We don't see Assassins in Pro Play atm, because not everyone makes that many mistakes up there. But everything under masters make mistakes all the time.

Thats not worlds tho, and I dont really count Galio as melee anyway, hes like Rumble.

Nahui2 votes

He's melee. As is Rumble. Lol.

Penns1 votes

A melee that has literally only ranged spells or a shield... so not really a melee lol

Nahui2 votes

I mean his ult is effectively melee range, Rumble's flame spitter as well. Rumble also has his empowered overheated autos.

That's like saying Zed isn't melee, as his primary combat style is through ranged spells.

Galio doesn't have a single aspect of his kit that revolves around him autoattacking. This by definition makes him non-melee, but instead a short-ranged caster. The same rule applies to Swain due to his ult: close range is not melee range but simply close range.
