Zac 2nd Q on a ward

Was watching c9 vs P1 earlier today and Contractz was playing zac into Meteos's gragas. At one point Meteos was caught over a wall and Contractz landed his q then proceeded to auto attack a ward that Meteos placed and the q actually pulled him back as if it were a champion or minion. I'm curious and it doesn't matter to me either way, but is this a bug or intended mechanic?
