Next season is going to be a blast

I'm gunna be frank. I was sick of working my ass off as a jungler to get my lanes ahead... sacrificing levels, gold, mid game powerspikes all to make sure my team had a solid lead in lane. all to watch it mean nothing when late game hit and stall out patterns emerged.

its been this way for 2 seasons now. agonizingly long games where you feel like one fight effected the outcome of the entire game. sure... it made for epic moments. but epic moments at the cost of 20+ minutes of futile grinding? it made me want to quit several times. I DID quit (ranked)

these last few days on the PBE got my spirits up.

SURE... some things are ridiculously overtuned and need to be rebalanced (thats why we have preseason) SURE... it can be frustrating to feel like you cant turn a game around

but dammit, i like where riot seems to be headed with all this. the game FEELS like your contributions early-mid game have late game rewards. hell... it feels like you could actually prevent late game from happening in soloque if you work hard enough and make the right decisions.

Nice optimisim. I think it will be cool, I just dont like items.

im disappointed in the runnans change. it nerfs kalista out of viability (+bork change) while making its synergy worse on every champion its good on... to appeal to ADCs as the item that they should buy when under threat of seige but never will.

rageblade is finally a decent item. indirect buff to akali/jax/kayle who have all been struggling to find identities

jungle starting itemization basically does what riot wanted to do last season... open up our options. and instead of asking "can so and so clear the jungle"... the question is now " is so and so a good ganker/splitpusher"

triforce is finally a slot efficient buy on a few champs, wheras before, it was slot efficient on nobody, despite half the champs wanting or needing its utility.

its a mixed bag. there are some huge leaps foreward, and a couple disappointing steps backward.

All of that is well and good... if you are an AD champion.

masteries are overtuned for AA champs that like to crit. deaths dance is a tiny bit too powerful. most of the problems are easy to fix... and will be.

but hey, with the new LW... all the people on the boards that like to complain about thresh will finally shut up. considering almost ALL of his armor is bonus armor
