Fix IFS - I'm trying to be a nice guy, but when I keep getting teammates like this...

Get camped by amumu and vs a garen as cho'gath. He's got a ton of damage early via aery. I ward and all, but mumu will literally just sit on a ward for 45 sec and not give a damn even if i q him and walk away. Despite being ganked every 2 min or less the entire laning phase including 4 flash ults and several tower dives, I end laning phase 4/2/0 with no help from my teammates. I also roamed a couple times, got jax some nice counter-jg cs and saved my midlaner while blowing the enemy mid's sums.

After laning I'm leaving tower to save team from dying in losing fights and helping them defend towers. I'm warding... unlike anyone else on our team save karma support. When I have to base from soaking fed mf ult, amumu ult, xerath damage, zyra ult, and garen damage, jax ignores me and steals all my farm. Putting me 60 cs behind garen and behind in levels - because jax does this multiple times. He also repeat dives in 1v5 and suicides cuz... he MIGHT trade kills with enemy adc or mid.

Baron is about to spawn and we need to clear giant minion wave top and bot too. Since the top wave is bigger and quinn doesn't have tp, I ask her to get top and let me clear bot since I can tp to baron. But nope - she's gotta get bot farm. So I walk top from by our bot inner tower... only for her to ult past me and steal 90% of the top wave. Thanks... not like I need farm or anything when I have to solo tank for our team vs their huge aoe burst damage comp. I tell quinn she needs to leave top farm for me if she's gonna take the bot farm in that situation; she basically tells me to fuck myself. Thanks quinn - not like I saved your butt 3x already or anything and ate up their jg's attention the entire laning phase to give you a safe 2v2 lane.

Repeated attempts to get people to group 5 and to ward - all failing. Repeated poor teamfights by my teammates - like facechecking 4v4 into enemy team and getting aced via mf and amumu ults without getting a single reply kill. Leaving me to stop pushing vs garen and try to 1v5 defend our inhib tower. Thanks team. But instead of thanks for stopping their push to end game, I get ignored and treated like trash.

Ping I need 200 gold to finish locket for our team to counter the enemy team's burst and save my teammates from getting blown up? Full build quinn takes 20 cs right in front of me - gotta love static shiv. I can see how much you appreciate the idea of not getting 1-shot since you clearly don't want ME to get the minions lol.

Jax suicides for umpteenth time and karma gets picked off from poor positioning to leave us 3v5 to contest elder drag so their team can't end? I set up our yasuo with perfect ult onto enemy mf and xerath. We grab a double kill 2v5, then quinn decides to come back and help - giving us a 3 for 3 in a 3v5 and stall elder drag. Not a single gj or thanks from my team. I tell them this when they do good plays.

Many, many throws and frustrating minutes later, I start the final fight - I pick off enemy adc and burst her to 10%hp for jax to jump on and 1-shot. I then peel garen and amumu off my adc and save her life - letting her escape with sub 100hp. Meanwhile I've relegated xerath to dropping max range spells for fear of his life. We get a 4 for 1 and push to end the game.

Final results: cho: 10/8/16 - 45k damage to opponents quinn: 16/8/4 - 43k damage to opponents yas: 4/10/10 - 18k damage to opponents karma: 3/7/21 - 37k damage to opponents jax: 13/10/8 - 37k damage to opponents

garen: 15/6/10 - 30k damage to opponents (he had villain true damage on me most of game too) mf: 9/11/18 - 37k damage to opponents xerath: 12/7/17 - 76k damage to opponents zyra: 3/11/14 - 41k damage to opponents amumu: 4/11/32 - 32k damage to opponents

So I had highest damage dealt on my team - while tanking the combo of mumu ult, zyra ult, and mf ult plus all the other damage - before I could think about fighting back - by 2 thousand damage. I also had most damage taken in the game by 4k and damage mitigated by 18k.

But instead of a thanks, a gj, or a single honor...I get:

  • ignored in favor of taking fights that lead to us losing 4 for 0 with only of of us escaping
  • denied my own cs to put me over 60 cs behind my lane opponent - including by teammates who already have full build
  • called garbage
  • told to basically go fuck myself

And not one of these people will have anything done to them in punishment. Thanks Riot for having such a great IFS system. Well, at least it's not like I run into teammates this ungrateful, troll, and rude on a weekly basis... except I do.

Players will not be punished for being bad. You are not the team captain, or the boss, and nobody else is ever obligated to play the game you want them to.

The point is not others following my "orders". The point is RANKED - that's a key thing to remember in this discussion - is a place for people to put forth their honest best effort.

So when people are playing like a full tier or more below the play level of their teammate(s) and/or opponents, there is a problem. There are very limited options to explain such a thing. For example - even while tilted out of MY mind from going like 1 win 7 losses in last 8 games and getting dumpstered in lane due to the other guy making 1 good play and then me being unable to farm even under tower, I still play with more intelligence and give my team a better chance than the people I am complaining about. Even when I've been camped 2v1 for the opening 15 min of the game and tp'd on or tf ulted on twice as well while laning vs a counterpick and my team doing nothing but lose across the map, I play better than the people I'm complaining about.

There is a difference between an honest mistake and intentionally feeding with wild abandon.

Explanations for such poor play:

  1. The player is playing on someone else's account - they didn't earn the elo/rank the account is currently at - their skill level is far below the level of this account. In such a case - shared accounts are against the rules/code. Both the person selling/sharing and the person buying/borrowing the account are in violation. We've had a former LCS pro banned or suspended from pro play for this. So... yeah - it's serious and WRONG.

It's unfair to both teams. It could even be a stolen/hacked account and the player him/herself is unaware only to log in later and find out their elo is tanked. If it's a friend or family member who just wants to play a game with more stuff unlocked... there's pve and un-ranked games where they can try it out without screwing over people in what is SUPPOSED to be an honest environment with equally skilled players trying their best. If they wanna play a regular pvp game and go 0/10/0, fine. But ranked is NOT the place for this.

  1. The player is "win trading" or whatever other term you prefer. They are actively sabotaging their team by INTENTIONALLY doing plays they KNOW will cost their team the game if done frequently enough. These players are at or below their proper elo/rank. Their goal is to STAY at their current rank so that they can smash people whenever they actually tryhard. This is both dirty to their teammates because it costs potentially 4 other people a win they truly deserved far more than their opponents and works to potentially elo boost their opponents; that's in matches they intentionally throw. The flip side is... if you are on the opponent team you MIGHT get a free win you didn't deserve and then get stuck playing people way too good for you. Or... you might face this person when they're tryharding. And then although you play your heart out and your team DESERVES to win save for the fact your opponent is performing at 10x what mmr expects him to due to him tryharding, you end up losing the match.

Imagine yourself being placed against some diamond smurf who's pissed from losing all his games that day on his main... so he loads up his silver smurf account and plays to completely obliterate you. No mercy, no bleeps given. Sound like fun? Cuz that's what you're defending if you defend people intentionally win-trading. You are also defending the week later when he next plays on his silver and to KEEP it in silver, he goes 0/15/2 and claims lag and tilt as he intentionally feeds everyone on the other team and refuses to work with you and your 3 other teammates who actually WANT to try. That's who you are defending. Think about it...[slayer-jinx-unamused]
