When Tanks are supposed to be the ones with Hard CC, so wouldn't more Tenacity hurt tanks?

You can't have both of those things at the same time, choose one.

I'd like tenacity in items that do no damage so only clever players would buy them. :D

If tenacity is properly itemized in tank items, then it lets tanks eat CC for their team better, which is one of their jobs. Sure, it hurts your ability to fight other tanks, but tanks generally don't care about fighting the other tanks, we want to stop the enemy carries and protect our allies.

but this is how new champs are made. the longer the knockup the higher percent chance a new champ will be borne

That would require such a massive rebalancing of champions that it's not even funny.

For example: Maokai's Q cc becomes useless if tenacity affected knock ups. Nautilus's ult would be heavily indirectly nerfed. Sion's Q would be less punishing if you didn't dodge (and it's supposed to be very punishing).

Basically all these champions would need compensation buffs in different areas if they made tenacity effect knock ups, else they'd be gutted. This isn't even considering the short displacements on non tanks like Jayce's knock back or Trundle's Pillar.

The only champion that people would be happy about this hurting is Yasuo because suddenly his ult becomes harder to use.

Tanks want tenacity because getting CCed does hurt them in some ways in teamfights. If you get stunned, then you can't CC the enemy team or protect your carry.

Now if only tanks had hard CC then this wouldn't be an issue. But mages and some fighters have stuns, some from a long range. So they could just use one on you and then focus your team.

I don't think tanks should have stupid amounts of tenacity, I just understand the desire.

Tenacity is meant for tanks. It has little to no use on fragile champs. Squishies are vulnerable to CC, to the point tenacity simply wont help. If they get CC-ed, they are dead. They use tools like kiting and mobility to avoid being CC-ed and ofc high amount of damage. Tanks on the other hand dont have a problem of being shut down entirely of CC and reducing its duration is one of their ways to be more efficient

Why can't you have both of it? Slap tenacity on tank items, like Warmongs, and bam, tanks can get more tenacity and non tanks(the once you usually want to cc) have no access to it. It's not like i's try to cc lock the opposing maokai with my nautilus, the once you want to cc are NOT the tanks.
