Do we really need pick order in the new ranked draft?

I mean people already chose their role,why not let those who want to lock sooner the ability to do so,sure you have the trade option but unless you have all of the champions(which takes ages,and you mostly likely will end up buying champions you have no interest in) it takes a lot of effort to do so(and can easily backfire),I mean sure you'll have to work out some minor technicalities(as to what happens if nobody locks) but these are easy to do,I just see no sense in forcing people to pick in a certain order when roles are already selected.

To be clear: the idea is for the draft to work pretty much the same,it's just that instead of "these specific 1 or 2 people need to lock" it's "1 or 2 people from this team need to lock".

Because this isn't Blind Pick. The pick order is Draft, and except for the way bans will be handled, it's exactly the same as current Draft Pick. Blind Pick is toxic as fuck and not good for Ranked play.

you mean for ranked team builder ? since we already have trades and this requires me the jungler who got first pick to buy kog maw cause my adc desperetly wants kog maw

while we could have just choose as a team that the adc picks his champ first yeh that be way wayyy better for ( premade 5s ) solo/duo q even do its gonne have teams now it wil stil have soloers would be bad for causee you wouldnt ever get pick solo

but if me and my 5man premade r playing us deciting ourself wich 2 players of us sellect champ first is waay better than leage deciting it i mean its basicly exactly the same only this way i dont have to buy all the champions my mid / sup / top and adc play just so i can pick them for them incase we wanted them to have first pick

idk what geniouse at riot made up the current system but its probertly the same person who designed team builder where you join a team and see kat is mid but ccant switch your kindred jungle for amumu jungle annymore without leaving the team and where you wait 70min + for a suport

I'd assume it's so people can counterpick, or if two people want the same champ. Like support or mid Lulu, ect.

I'm on the pbe and have tested this quite a bit over and over last night. there is virtually no issue with the way it works. you go in knowing before hand roles and champion preference and pick order is an absolute must in ranked play. even on pbe with a reduced amount of people even on and in que's it moves by smoothly and rather quick.

previous posted... team builder is blind pick with chances at mirror champions...this isn't ranked its basically like blind pick except you get to lock your role in.... your comparing it to the draft pick on pbe is completely irrelevant and not a very good way to complain about a new system. this works well the way it is designed to work which is for draft play NOT team builder/blind pick.
