I really hope next season's jungle is better than this one.

This is just a few take-aways from this year's jungle I have:

  1. Mobs were too tough in the beginning of the season despite an entire preseason to tell riot something was wrong.
  2. Tank junglers save for Sej were too weak, now people are complaining they are too strong (I'd call them viable for a change)
  3. Some of the machete upgrades (not enchantments) are worthless. Poachers, I'm looking at you. Stalkers and skirmishers seem to be fighting for the same space.
  4. One enchantment sucks (devourer), one is rarely used because no AP junglers (magus), and one is so OP it is bleeding into top lane (cinderhulk)
  5. Dragon went from being worthless aside from gold to too important if you lose more than 1.
  6. It's pretty obvious Gold+ players are getting Victorious Sej at the end of the year.
  7. Lee has a terrible win rate but he can still be OP in the right hands, this is either brilliant balance or terrible balance.
  8. I think the biggest flaw about this year's jungle is that a lot of junglers feel like it's no longer fun to play. Riot aimed for a higher bar in champ select (fine) but ended up on not-fun (not-fine) for too many players.

  1. They seem perfectly fine for the majority of champions who were meant to be Junglers in the first place. (Granted, everybody sets themselves up to die if they are playing a weak first clear jungler by not starting red and by attacking the big monsters first).
  2. Yeah, viable is a better term. Especially now since Gromp was peeled back a bit. That said though, I recall a plethora of solo q stompers like Amumu and Rammus still being amazing, even during the period of non-popularity.
  3. Poachers is really it. The other three have decent usage all across.
  4. As far as Magus goes, this is not necessarily the fault of the Jungle/item itself, to be fair. AP Junglers as a whole have the weirdest design problem that is hard to fix with a single item (Perfectly fine/over the top with blue, and at constant risk of starving without it)
  5. Why do people still think this...
  6. This is just dumb.
  7. This has little to do with the Jungle itself, as Lee is just a bady designed champion all around.
  8. Refer to the parenthesis in point 1. High skill cap also means knowing how to use your jungle champion, and if you really don't know how to get past your first full clear as virtually any champion, that's your own fault above all else.

Until Soraka nad Sona jg become viable, then diversity is NONEXISTANT

First, I think you are making a joke.

Second, for the record jungle Soraka was viable last season. I even won a game trying it out for giggles. I think riot wants to stay away from that because they hate the banana girl.

I personally love the new jungle. More difficult, reminds me of season 1 and that was my favorite season of LoL.

Due to the respawn timers being raised 2 things have happened..

  1. The value of each camp is raised, meaning since they appear half as often, counter-jungling feels more rewarding imo early on.
  2. Junglers have more incentive to gank lanes.

Also, the items, I do agree Poacher's needs work. What would I do to fix it? Change passive from the half-charge to "Whenever you smite a large monster in your jungle, it reveals that jungle camp in the enemy jungle for a short period of time." Maybe if the monsters are up you can be given some sort of incentive to take them aside from denying the enemy jungler. Trailblazer should be popular, if you are running an unconventional/non top-tier jungler you should be required to run that item. Then you choose snare for early game strength (chances are you would sell stalker's for a better item to complete your build if you make it that far in the game, unless you are building devourers.) or damage reduction for late game strength (I would recommend this for those with the devourer enchantment.)

I do not feel as though Devourer is too weak, it only takes 17 stack to be equal in strength to Wit's End.

Also, Dragon should be that important. Let me put it to you this way, late game getting Baron is HUGE. Why shouldn't Dragon have a similar effect? I really like the changes.

Jungle was always a less fun role for me but now I find that there is just too much imbalance in the game in general. Riot threw too many new things at us this season without enough thought put into them or time to test them out. Honestly remember when Warwick was a god for a week straight? Nidalee's stupidity which still persists, or how about only Lee Sin and Jarvan only for an entire month?

IMO this new jungle had potential but by changing way too much too quickly my experience with it can only be described as negative. Hopefully time will help.
