Let's try to guess Jhin's kit!
Hi guys! Every champion that has a teaser vid seems to get at least one thread where people try to guess his/her kit from the teaser, so let's begin! Be sure to post your own ideas below and we'll see if we can figure out the kit together! Jhin, the Harrowing Marksmen (High range immobile AP based Marksman) Passive- Jhin's auto attacks do not benefit from crit chance or scale with bonus AD. Instead, they scale based on .6/.7/.8/1.0 (Levels 1,6,11,16) AP. Explanation- I believe that Jhin will be an AP marksman, and this passive would be necessary to give him relevant auto attack damage. The reason the AP scaling is so high late game is because his autos can't randomly crit. I decided to prevent random critting because you can have an absurdly high AP total compared to how much AD you can have, so dealing 1600 damage per hit seemed a bti excessive Q- Jhin fires an incendiary round at his opponent, dealing (20/35/50/65/80 +(22.5% AP)) magic damage per second to the target for 4 seconds. (12/11/10/9/7 second cooldown, resets his autoattack animation, decent mana cost, same range as his auto attacks) Explanation- Look like Jhin's first shot burned his target or exploded through it. Since I wouldn't like auto shoving my lane I decided to make a burn effect spell. W- Jhin's empowers his next auto attack, causing it to deal bonus damage. This bonus damage is equal to .6/.7/.8/.9/1.0 times his critical strike chance. (Really short cooldown and fairly low mana cost, will reset his autoattack animation) Explanation- All of the good attack speed items for marksman in the game have crit chance nowadays, which is a wasted stat on Jhin because of his passive. To counter this he needed to have crit scaling on some of his abilities. E- Jhin's gun releases an electric charge, dealing (80/120/160/200/240 +(85% AP)) damage to all enemies caught in it. (Fairly long cooldown (14 seconds or so), high mana cost scaling with levels, similar but faster and narrower skillshot to lux's ult and about 900-1100 range, hits minions and champions) Explanation- Jhin needs a way to control his minion wave against strong shoving champions. This will also allow him to get some good harass off if he can land the ability on champions. R- Jhin fires a high damage skillshot that collides with the first champion it hits, then passes through until it reaches max range. The first target takes (100+crit chance) times the base damage, and all targets hit are rooted for 1.5 seconds. (150/300/450 +(100% AP) Damage) (Very long cooldown, fast skilshot with a fairly wide hitbox and long range, 100 Mana) Explanation- Jhin needs a massive nuke in his kit to seem like a mage, and the root helps him kite a bit which he needs since he's immobile. I decided on a root over a stun because of the teaser video. Conclusion and TL;DR I know the numbers are probably ridiculous but that's what playtesting is for! The general idea is that he is an AP based marksman with high burst damage potential but is also very vulnerable. He has 2 auto attack resets but no attack speed steroids in his kit, has absolutely no mobility and can only crit when his W is up. He will mostly poke with his Q because spamming his e will push his lane (A pushed Jhin would be a dead Jhin when the jungler comes) and it would run him oom. His W allows him to output similar damage as a traditional ADC when he has mana to keep spamming it. His E helps him waveclear or secure a kill/harass. His ult is either an assassination tool (a very high AP scaling nuke if he hits the ADC/Mid land assasin first would almost be a guaranteed kill), or an engage/kiting with the root. And of course it's crazy when the enemy team lines up the shot for him. He will be very mana hungry because he will want to build attack speed, crit, and AP, which won't leave much room for Mana/Mana regen (RoA would probably be a core item) So, what do you think?
