You Hate It but Autofill Forces You to Be a More Complete Player

and makes it harder to abuse OP champions or OTP some FoTM to a high rank. As far as I see it, it's an improvement. No more Kha'Zix only to Masters. Now you actually have to know something about the game as a whole.

No it doesn't.

I dodge whenever filled.

It's called choice. And I choose not to participate in autofill.

Or, conversely, it forces people to play roles that they either are not as adept at playing or do not desire playing. In either of those scenarios the match quality takes a definitive dive.

I am comfortable playing Support, ADC, Mid and Top, but I don't like jungling, not that I don't know how as much as I just do not feel as comfortable in the role and know that my team is at a disadvantage as a result. Why should four (or really nine) other players be punished with a lower quality match simply because I was cast into a role I do not particularly feel comfortable playing.

In addition, say I don't WANT to play support (mind you I play support quite a bit), but for the sake of argument let's say I don't desire it---sure I know HOW to do it, but we all know that if you don't really WANT to do something then you're just not going to play at your best even if you have the ability to do so. When I was a child I loved reading, but if we had to write a book report for an author or title that I didn't enjoy it felt laborious and, ultimately, my heart wasn't in the book and so the report quality was lower. Same scenario applies here.

Sure, on paper, it may make you a better player to be forced into playing all roles, but in reality it merely causes a decline in match quality and fun in playing a game.

Personally, I just find it turns bottom lane into a one-sided stomp.

An autofilled ADC and support are generally going to get slaughtered by players who main those roles.

Why not only Kha'zix to masters? why you have the right to tell me what i wanna play? i only play 6champs atm everything else is boring and im not gonna swich my champion pool to be a more complete player. People only play what is fun. OTP is funnier than playing gay meta champs. Oh lemme just play poppy press E and auto once and get a 1khp shield and be unkillable fun gameplay right?

But why should I be forced to learn to play every role if I want to climb?

You wouldn't argue that Faker doesn't deserve to be on a championship winning team because he plays almost exclusively mid, right?

So why is it different for someone in lower ELO? I hate this stigma that some people have about players being bad if they can't play every role. At the core of competitive LoL, top tier players play ONE role.

... Like the Old champion select? facepalm

Big Lincoln12/5/2016, 1:46:33 PM2 votes

thanks im just gonna play bard solo lane if I get autofilled out of support/jungle lol

Deep Terror Nami12/5/2016, 1:16:10 PM1 votes

Meh. Even with the old champ select (and I frequently see when watching current high elo streams) people were actually pretty generous with trading roles around so that the best person possible was in each spot.

I do agree that people will have to learn the other roles a bit and that they should, but it's not really guaranteed all that frequently.

my use of twitch and braum despite autofill http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=lord%20grimm

Agreed, playing other champs/roles increases the knowledge of the game. Also, there is always the option for dodging.

Jiharu12/5/2016, 1:07:23 PM1 votes

old champion select was a mess of "mid or feed" every game. Now you get "who wants support" "top swap for jungle/mid" Nothing like old champ select [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

kha'zix support free win

Noblewind12/5/2016, 5:32:02 PM1 votes

I disagree. At the end of the day you're a Mid/Top/JG/Bot/Supp main and want to focus more on one than any other.

I'm Silver and think I'm really ready to climb this year out of it in Mid and as secondary Top/JG (I'm not planning on one-tricking, I mean a pool of around 8 champs or so). Me playing ADC once in a while offers little to nothing in terms of benefit to this very reasonable goal.

Rockm Sockm12/5/2016, 7:53:32 PM1 votes

Actually it doesn't.

  1. Ranked is a boosted nightmare that only a hard reset will fix.
  2. Having teammates in your game that die to jungle camps and take tp ignite Chogath support doesn't teach you anything.

Two types of people here. You are the type of person to rage and tilt. Maybe your the kind of person who finds some small things to improve on this game till three fed people start tower diving you.

The game and the feeders wasted 20 mins to 1 hr of your time either way.

Remove this shit gold and below period.

You say this like playing support makes you a better player. The problem is that despite what anyone says, there are alot of people that fully understand the concept of supporting without playing the role. When I autofilled I played blitz because he was free to play. First time ever playing that champion. Adc got fed, warded off three ganks, cced their carries in fights. Supporting isn't hard nor challenging. I know how to support I just don't want to do it.
