The vast majority of GD is sub silver and does not understand game design. If you made a summoner spell called death laser that did 2k damage at level 18, these people would gobble it up. Adding another redundant layer of "gameplay" but excused under the insane reasoning of "if I can have it, you can have it too! It's balanced!1111"
