Kinda scared to buy a skin for one of my favorite champs....

I've been using Skarner for about 1-2 months now and I felt like it was time to buy a skin for him due to the fact that i love playing him so much. But after seeing the rework i have began to become more apprehensive about wanting to buy his Guardian of the sands skin. I'm afraid that the new rework will ruin the champion for me and i will soon forget about him and not want to play him as a champion anymore. I don't have any refund tokens either. What do you guys think? His rework honestly disappointed me and i don't want to waste money on a skin if i'm going to hate him. Should i buy it and enjoy the rest of the time i have with him?

I was also wondering, do his crystal things that you have to claim have different visuals depending on the skin?

I would hold onto your money for now.

Riot needs to start thinking about this before doing so many sweeping changes to perfectly functional champions. It makes me hesitant as well. More and more I just don't feel inclined to invest in this game. It's too unreliable.

I live in perpetual fear that my favorite champion (Malzahar) is going to be handed over to CertainlyT and turned into a support or something. My trust in Riot is all but gone at this point...

I feel so annoyed man... Like so many changes are happening that nobody even asked for.. I want to buy his skin so bad because i love him as a champion but to have this new rework preventing me from doing so is really disappointing to me. I bought the Rp today and having it sitting there kind of upsets me because i really wanted to spend it on Skarner. If i DO buy it and they completely fuck up the champion in the rework, is it tradition to refund the skins?

If you've used up your allotment of purchase refunds I'd suggest you hold off. They won't refund you the RP simply because you don't like the rework, and I'd be really surprised if you do like it since it basically wrecks his current play-style. If I were you I'd wait until after playing the rework a fair amount so you know whether or not you still love him.

I feel like as someone who claims they love a champion, it is my responsibility to adapt to the changes and make it work and not just go into the rework with a pessimistic view on his new abilities. As much as i literally hate whoever was responsible for the rework i feel like there may be a small chance that he can do some positives for the team.

No it's not your responsibility. Don't let Riot take advantage of you that way. Give it a try, and hopefully you like it, but it's not your responsibility to like a drastic rework just because.

I bought the cool Skarner mecha skin, played him for awhile and realized he isn't that fun because he's so kitable.

New rework looks like they're just making him into a giant mini-game. Sigh.

And he's slower so he'll be even more kitable. Rofl...
