Honour system turned into something that was about skill

So can we PLEASE change these corny categories into something more relatable?
Something like:
"Built ardent censor" "Carried the game" "didnt play ornn"
any other ones?

Funny
Alternatively Warring Kingdom's Azir so you can carry a game around with you. (He pulls out a game of Go during his recall)
Shurmemea
HAHAHAHAH. No.
Idk I get a lot of honors by being nice and not tilting, always make sure to honor others for the same too. Most of my honors did come from games I played well in, though.
I don't think the problem is the categories, people are gonna honor the person who carried them, its just how people are. Not sure how you'd fix that.
For my part I think its way to easy to go up lvls so they don't feel meaningful, pretty sure I'm almost lvl5 (hit the other lvls about week after people posted first, so it should be coming soon).
As for the players being toxic and still having the banners... riot does need to work on their reporting system.
litterally just posted about this
Ikr , no matter how friendly or whatever you are ( not saying I'm friendly , I'm toxic :^) ) people will honor the one who's 10/0 for leadership or something
Really? I rarely see people getting honored for playing well. Like you can solo carry a game for 20 minutes and then blitzcrank lands ONE of thirty hooks=most honorable player. lul
I've seen it happen a lot, had it happen to me in an ARURF match; went something like 15/1 in a match and carried the game, but I didn't talk at all in chat and (TBH) only marginally made an effort to work with teammates for objectives. Got 2 "friendly" and 1 "team player" honors at the end. The other day I got a "Shotcaller" honor, despite ALSO not saying anything for the entire duration of the match and only using pings for MIA warnings.
i usually honor the 0-10 top laner that didn't tilt out of the game or someone who's lane i negatively affected and didn't get flamed for as a jungler
Idk, i feel the current honors are fine, we just need more categories.
But I wish I could honor enemies or a second/third teammate. Many games have I been carried by two people or met an enemy that wasn't a total arse.
For example, in my last game I faced a Yasuo that was pretty chill whether he won or lost trades/kills. In another game I got dicked on bot and had completely given up until my support and mid had helped me detox and carried the game.
Lmao, died at "didn't play ornn" thanks for the laugh, also funny because its so true.
"I didn't really want to honor anyone this game but I still want the small boost to my honor so I might as well honor someone"
I think the honor system is still mostly about honor, so I'm not bothered if there are players that only give out honor based on skill. It's their choice how they want to give out honor. I say let them express their values. It's not that big a deal. If I feel the honor most appropriate is strongly related to their carrying, then I give them shot calling honor because even fed players can be dumb and still lose the game with a bad call.
I guess RIOT could give a category called "didn't lose the game through stupidity... this time".
Skill>Being nice because no matter how nice as you are, there's something that makes my experience even more pleasant: playing well.
yeah but I still hate the 25/0/1
or
on my team sucking himself off about how good he is and flaming the enemy team for being bad and flaming his teammates for being "bad" and yadda yadda
I tend to find it's only the low elo people on those champs that talk shit when they're fed. The higher elo Yasuo and Master Yi players are unstoppable and they know it; they're more likely to apologize for ravaging you so hard rather than calling you bad.
If someone 'carries to game' but behaves obnoxiously, it is quite easy to honor someone else instead. Hopefully people will learn to do so soon. I presume you have already learned to do so. :)
Of course since everyone is getting to honor 5 (if they don't get punished) soon enough, all this honor talk is really meaningless. :(
I just stick to my tried and true method of honoring one player every game...and reporting two.
Actually laughed. +1
It would be nice if there were different icons for different types of honor. Honor is mainly a grind by playing a large number of games. Even very positive and enjoyable players find it hard to get honor if they do not play enough games. Players that have insulted and belittled me had a honor 4 icon. I believe that the current honor system is not a good representation of how honorable a player is. I do not feel proud when I get honors, because I know I only got it for carrying a game, not my friendly behaviour.
It is quite rare for a feeding person to get honors. I really genuinely appreciate it when I do feed and still receive multiple honors for not giving up. However, there is no way to distinguish these honors from honors given for carrying a game. Therefore, I suggest a "carried my ass" honor in place of GG <3.
I honored a Lux who stole a Penta from me the other day (I was playing Vayne). He wasn't performing well, but he deserved the +honor from me regardless
Dunno. I play support and so unless I am playing Zyra I am not carrying. However I when I play Tahm / Nami and pull of few clutch saves I tend to get honor. Not from my KDA but for playing for the team.
" didnt play ornn "
lol
Eh, I tend to use didn't tilt whenever someone feeds but doesn't whine.
That's pretty much what the honor system has always been.
You do well, you get honored. Nothing more to it.
At least honorable opponent actually did what was intended.
Had a super toxic garen go 27 and 5, and DEMANDED that everyone honour him, and when I told him he's not getting any and that he deserves nothing but a report because of how toxic he was all game, he responded, "I DESERVE IT FOR CARRYING YOU TRASH!!!!!".
I got three honours that game. Get rekt, Garen.
The current honour system isn't about being a good person anymore, it's about how did the best. Or at least, that's how some people seem to see it. I'd be down for a change to make it feel as intended.

no offense but you gave an example that directly counters the point you were making. That's not a great way to convince people. :p
However I think you're right to a certain point. Its more like the best nontoxic person gets honored rather than the most positive person. The whole system encourages neutrality(+skill) rather than being kind or toxic.
I worded it like an idiot is all.
The fact that the Garen demanded them at all says to me that the honours don't FEEL the same, they feel like Overtrash's shitty upvote cards now, so people will feel entitled to them if they did well, rather than being a positive player.
If that makes any sense, of course. I'm terribad at words.
What's the point of changing anything it all adds to one thing the honor badge :T
It won't show "Honor 5 for best leader" "Honor 5 for best person to not tilt" "Honor 5 for best friendly person" It's just going to say "Honor 5"

So can we PLEASE change these corny categories into something more relatable?
Something like:
"Built ardent censor" "Carried the game" "didnt play ornn"
any other ones?
what if i played ornn, build ardent censor and carried?
Then you would be in a game with people who have trouble working doorknobs efficiently, and then your team may have MEANT to honor you but would be confused by the honor screen and would randomly honor someone...
On top of that I wouldnt be surprised by some Plastic 4 division baddie building an Ardent Censor on Ornn... and an Ohmwrecker... as a jungler before building a jg item.
but the dives!
You know what...
You made me think of something with that... Off subject and all, but WHAT IF!?
What if Riot forced every player in Bronze 4 to build an
as their second item... I honestly think it would cause many of them to go up to Bronze 3, and create some turnover between B 3 & 4. Obviously cant help the Bronze 5 people, they are nothing but trolls that try to get there, and ragers who belong there, and a few afk people with cats walking across keyboards... thats all Bronze 5 is. The B 4 people though, they kill themselves with turrets so much it would actually be helping most of them!
I got ornn jg in one of my games...
the horror
I'm in counseling now and slowly starting to feel again.
As opposed to the last honor system where you got honored going 0/10 ? That never happened.

"didnt play ornn"
doesn´t work like that, if you think about it. You will end up with 3 to 4 guys that didn´t pick ornn, but you can only honor one. It would make more sense to just report that one guy that picked him instead. Still i had a good laugh. wp sir
I'll be Riot's advocate here. Everyone will carry games occasionally. You'll honor them if they carried but were still nice otherwise. If you're a nice or silent person, you'll get honors this way. If you blame your team for being so heavy, people won't honor you even though you carried.
But yeah, most honors are given because they carried and weren't toxic rather than because they were truely honorable. It's because the system stimulates honoring someone no matter what because of the team bonus you get when everyone gets an honor. Now that I'm lvl 5 honor, I guess I won't be honoring every game anymore. Perhaps Riot should change it and make a statement that you'd only need to honor about every 2 or 3 games to get the 'max progression'. In most games, no one truely comes out as honorable, or I simply didn't read the chat enough to notice who was nice/toxic. It happened that I honored someone for making nice plays but then my friend said "What? Really? He was constantly flaming me". Maybe it would be nice if we could still read the chat when the victory screen appears. Not sure if it would be worth the investment, though.
DIDNT PLAY ORRN JHDHSDHHSDS TRUE
