@Meddler So with Crit chance being changed sometime in the future, can you give us a clue on Trynd?

His RNG is frankly stupid.

He's supposed to be weak early game so that he can scale into a monster late, but most melee top laners just get zoned by the mere CHANCE that Tryndamere gets three lucky crits into an summoner 14 to kill you, then snowball.

However, if you just let Tryndamere free farm, he split pushes the entire game, and 1v3s you while still coming out 1 for 2. This is why many players consider him this mindless split pusher that is only effective in lower divisions.

We also need to discuss his thematics. Why would someone with such a massive sword attack 2.5 times a second? It just looks funny with this guy, and it's almost like his sword is made of foam.

We haven't decided to remove or heavily modify crit. Might or might not happen someday, but it's not currently a decided thing. We are planning to remove crit runes sometime next year when we do work on runes in general (later half of the year most likely, given work's dependent on the new client being out to start a lot of it).

Right, but what about Tryndamere? Any plans for some changes? If the decision to remove crit runes was made to remove the chance to win lane off of lucky crits, do you have any plans to look into how Tryndamere gets that random element by default?

Ooooh, I'm really interested to see how those changes will affect Gangplank! Gangplank Goddamnit, I'm looking forward to something we might not see for like a year again ._.

Why crit runes, and are there other runes that you'd like to get rid of in the future?

the same reason why adc's have unlimited ammo on their weapons?

Leave it to Vets to tell us about the days where Tryndamere was actually good in the meta and how he was utterly cancer to face. ;)

Although you can argue that there are a lot of toplaners who aren't fun to play against I often despise against a tryndamere. He is basically that kind of champion that actually punish you for trying to play safe with his mobility and mocking shout who is often difficult to punish if he loses out on an engage. He's bad in team fights unless the opposing team for whatever reason lacks hard CC so he just splitpushes all game. ults and then spins away.

I've still never seen a single clip of RNG being the sole deciding factor in a tryndamere game, never seen it in any game I've played either. I keep asking for one every time I see a thread like this and people just downvote me and call me ignorant.

I believe that we may get some evidence once more players are able to record our games. If I get bullshitted like that I will DEFINITELY make a boards post about it though, with video attached.

To be frank, Tryndamere is a complete mess, and has far more issues than just winning or losing lane on a lucky Crit. As it is right now, he can lose lane 0-3, not snowball at all, and if his team is even half-decent and plays defensively, he can still splitpush effectively and win the game without team-fighting even once. This is non-interactive as hell, kinda boring, and far more pressing than the possibility to snowball once in a while. He needs a complete rework, not just some tuning regarding his early Crit.

And I play Tryndamere myself, so I'll be sad when he is changed, but I'll still acknowledge that's a good thing for the game as a whole.

(Also, Trynd Crit is in the order of 10-30%, that's not the same scale as a 1 or 2% Crit Rune, either.)

Tryndamere doesn't actually scale into a monster late.

He scales well with items as a duelist, but his total lack of team fighting ability makes him much less effective late game than someone like Yasuo, who has less dueling power by comparison but much more tools to work with in a team fight.

Why would someone with such a massive sword attack 2.5 times a second?

Because his right arm is a lot stronger than his left.

Tryn remake will be VERY simple.

The more ferocity he has the higher damage his basic attacks will do like 10% 20% 30% so forth so on till 100% at max bar.

Then they will nerf his AD slightly and buff his Spin slightly

Crit is actually 1% increased auto attack damage (if you look at in the long run... but in the short run of course it is huge.. being either 100% or 0%) Which means that Trynd with max fury will deal +35% auto attack damage (or 52.5% with IE) well on average that is...

The problem is what to do with his E... which gets lower cooldown with each crit...

Trynda is actually pretty weak lategame. He is scary only when he is ahead.
