Rengar is Still a mess of a champion.

Im gonna be honest.

He is still broken beyond believe.

I think if they do something about his free crit, then there may be a small chance that Rengar will be less of a problem.

Because lets face it, He has a good chance of getting nerfed into the old Yorick tier if they dont figure out that the free crit on his ult is the biggest problem in his kit.

I have even hear some people say that the Rengar rework is a colossal failure...

Also The hot fix they did was just a joke towards Rengar's damage, 5 points off on his q... really. And his e isn't the main problem.

Seriously Rito, Address the problem correctly please.

Agreed... champion is disgusting. They just took Rengar, gave him sustained dps, a gap closer, and a mini Olaf ultimate... lmao pretty much removed his weaknesses.

You have no idea what Old Rengar could do if that's what you think. Lmfao

doesnt matter old rengar would be trash in the current meta. new one is probably one of the best bruisers in the game by a large margin.

Old Rengar was always Viable, allthough he would have a lot of trouble clearing the current jungle.

People can complain about new Rengar as much as they want, but he doesn't pop people like the old one did.

dominusx1 votes

beh he does. as long as dumb adc players splitpush and give him tons of golds he will pop you in seconds. now he just has a diff combo. everysingle game i played with Rengar/Kha this season i'm fed off of stupid adc players who splitpush all 15games do far.

Old Savagery waws an enhanced Auto attack, which means it pretty much didn't have a cast time if he used it on his leap, and the second savagery (depending on which combo Rengar used) went off much faster than the new one because Rengar used to build quite a lot of AS. He could pump his entire kit's damage out in no time.

New Rengar can still combo his Bola and Leap, but has to use his Q (Which has a somewhat long cast time because it has to slashes) after it, and blending in a Tiamat doesn't feel smooth at all anymore, for me atleast.

But yeah, ADC players behaving like dumbasses will always get Knifecat Fed

Fed enough that he can crit me for 1600.

Still salty for losing my 8th ranked game to him. Now I'm 5/3.

my opinion : old rengar needed skill and ferocity to one shot.

New rengar : 0 skill, just weave your combo.

Agreed to Disagree.

What skill did he need? His q wasn't a skill shot. His w was free damage and or a small heal. His was a point and click. He needs much more skill now and has a lot more decision making.

How does the new one need less?

Dracocrash2 votes

the old one, needed you to use your whole combo in mid air, if you tried to fight someone in minions you would most definitly not land your E. IT was mechanically harder to play.

The new one you just have to auto Q, you dont need to e or W for a kill.

cause the team rengar has always feed cause all rengar does is ks and doesn't give the team help. when he ks he gets more damage but when his team feeds thanks to ks the other team gets more damage due to not having fed lanes cause rengar stole all kills.

I think at this point Riot needs to establish as a design rule that they can never, under any circumstances, give a champion both reliable upfront burst and reliable target access. When you combine those two factors, you get champions like Rengar and Annie, who either kill anyone they want without their victim having any say in the matter, or don't get to do much at all. Rengar specifically is meant to be a fighter-assassin hybrid, which should normally imply that his own burst would be even more spread out than that of the average assassin. Instead, he's still one of the burstiest champions in the game, and nothing really justifies that. Even with incoming nerfs, Rengar's kill pattern is still fundamentally uninteractive, and because of that he likely needs more work.

apparently they said they might revert rengar's rework. But the same comment made by a riotier was deleted soon after, so i have no proof.

Yeah. I remember hearing about that on Phylol's video not to log ago.

What can I say, Rengar is just the melee version of Ryze......

Reworks for days

I think the rework is actually okay, like the scaling in the passive is pretty cool and the ultimate in terms of the vision/leaping to the closest enemy makes for better counterplay than the old one, and both of these things fit Rengar's character very well (will admit the Q is just a strange ability for him).

The issue is the free ult Crit. It ruins basically every aspect of the new kit.

  1. It creates much less incentive to build strong damage, which makes the empowered W OP when it's intended to be a situational ability to avoid getting blown up as a squishy assassin. Everyone knows after S6 being tanky and dealing lots of damage is broken af. Without the crit, tank rengar would be useless and he'd need to either be fighter build or assassin.

  2. The passive isn't an issue on it's own, the issue is because of other things it's just way too easy to stack, and with free crit the stacks provide enough passive damage to get by without damage items. Rengar will kill a squishy target early on for that first, maybe second stack (that's what rengar does). The crit makes it too reliable to get that first and second kill, where after you just scale out of control with raw damage burst (while being tanky as discussed).

IMO remove the crit and just go from there, watch to see how he does without it.

They didn't even do anything that would make him worthy of the title assassin. He still is better classified as a high damage diver since the only thing he can do is leap in for kills. There is no emphasis on escape mobility or resets it's just "hurr I crit u ur dead". Once again they can't reduce his burst damage to not one shot levels without making the hero useless.

Every time they rework him I'm left wondering what their overall goal is since he hasn't ever gotten any less frustrating or any healthier for the game.

IMO right now Rengar gives much better indication where he is and you can easier guess where his position is
