That's it! I can't take it anymore of people saying Darius is strong or op or fine.I am sorry I will have to strongly disagree to that.Why because he can smash any melee who opposes him? Actually Darius needs that no cd dunk more than ever, because he is really not that strong anymore as he is supposed to ( not used to).Actually Darius used to be healthy but not anymore.I used to main Garen and then wanted a champion with an ult that will at least do something even if used early and thats how i started maining Darius.So I have a general idea of what I am about to say.
I mained Darius when he first came out ( nerfed ).I mained him when his q was op ( nerfed ) mained him when his base ad was op ( nerfed ) mained him when his hook used to drag through knock back! not any more. like lee sin ult + ward dash or flash and trist ult + her rocket jump( nerfed ) mained him when his dunk had more damage (nerfed and scaling ( nerfed )was no cd op (nerfed ),mained him when his dunk was 14 secs and then at 20 secs and still main him at no cd at lvl 16 so trust me.I play darius so much I like Darius more than league and heve to admit like dunking more than league.I didn't chose the life of dunking, it chose me.
Speaking freely this is why, darius is simply a snoballing champ who falls off late game in team fights.
1.Darius was supposed to be the melee fighter who destroys any
other melee thats why ( although which is not the case anymore),because u don't really need to be a ranged harass to beat him.Hence need the no cd back.Because he has no escape no sustain at all and less usefull in team fight aka less usefull at late game champion.
2.Darius used to have such a mechanic too, snoballing, Darius is good at snoballing you all say? Actually he used to be. But hence the nerf heh he is not a good snoballer at all.
So what's the big deal? Then at the end what is Darius really good at? Than any other champion? What does Darius have? Basically every other champion in league( top lane in general ) has a better kit or better mechanic than Darius and ultimately more useful in the game and in teamfights.
I say this because winning is just not about skills anymore.( yes it's true ).A lot of other factors weigh in too
such as the game mechanic,for instance like initiation.
For instance a top Darius vs maplh/ jungle panthoen vs vi / mid Ahri vs Ziggs/ bot Ashe(any1)and Soraka vs Lucian and Braum.
Given that evermy member in darius team is ahead than their repective opponents in gold/cs/dragon buffs/ etc...in team fights the other team will still win.
He used to snoball 'cos that's what he was designed to do,and because he is a 0 mobility, no escape, all in, no sustain,lane shoving, prone to gank, heavy risk, easy to shut down through gank, mana based and a fall off late game champion.Satisfied?

Here's some way more than ur normal melee counters for darius and just how they are more useful or better in team fight or in the game itself in general.How they have better mechanic and why Darius shouldn't be played.And pls don't feel free to disagree even though it's just my opinion to those of you havent played draft or rank with him or at least played him in general.
Aatrox?. Sure can be outplayed and eventually defeated but specifically hence the ult nerfs Darius can't beat him if building damage or taking poke.(To those who says so what's the big deal?).He is 1nce again a snoballing champ.cos 1 Q and lane is shoved and the eventual gank / death or lane shoved if traded he will heal back at turret.and Darius was supposed to be the guy
Tryndamere? lose if Darius lets him get his fury up or shove lane with trade and gank risk/death/ no escape/ he has sutain, escape,ranged slow and 1nce again just so useful in destroying turrets backdoor getting the other carries with his ult.Back door twice with ult on any turret without no minions its down.
Cho'Gath? He has sustain if he survived trades or gank he will get back to health in no time.he has a strong knock up, a strong high damage poke silence and a faster ult true damage just as Darius.Can still be out played through right build,runes and masteries.Just need to dodge the knock back and let him push a bit. like 4.5% ms and running 15/12/3 with boots.But still just so much more usefull in teamfights in mechanics in ganking a lane,and proceed to " snoball" etc....
Mundo? Can be out played too provided u are alive from gank and the poke.but still that slow! that tank! in teamfights I mean it's so easy for Mundo to keep an out of position enemy to keeping them out of position.and that tank!Still more usefull in a team than Darius so yeah he needs the no cd dunk because he can't snoball 'cos he used to be healthy in the game but not any more.Once again he used to snoball 'cos that's what he was designed to do,and because he is a 0 mobility, no escape, all in, no sustain, heavy risk, easy to shut down through gank, mana based champion and a fall off late game champion. Ekko? skill matchup. but still the risk still the poke still all those utilities and uses in the teamfight.
Fizz? The guy can waste ut teams abilities on him and then proceed to "snoball".Yes can still be out played provided u dodge his ult, built speed and dont miss or waste abilities on his troll pole.But stil a better assassin better burst on squeshees, better in team fights and in the game itself in general.
Fiora? Sure can beat her, but that ult!which cannot be peeled ur squshees from and because she has the same retarded build strategy like riven.Hence better in teamfights 'cos she can actually go in the enemy backline safely.Not like Darius gets ccd at 1st or mid or last, take ur pick.
Gangplank? Sure can be out played, and beaten but he is a counter, and the global lt to help outother lanes, that cleanse,
not mentioning the laning problems, hence a better team fights.
Gnar? Irelia? Jarvan ? Jax? Maokai? Hecarim? yeah can be out played but all of them can do a few things ( not something ) better than Darius after the dunk nerf.He is a sno baller an early one at that not a late game sno baller so no cd at lvl 16 does nothing to him.
Gnar- need speed, armor and 5 pots sustain to even hope to outplay him.
Irelia- skil matchup but still better in tf.( assassin/lock down squeshees/ has sustain...etc )
Jarvan- lel. u know his passive? a vampiric scepter is all the damage he needs. he can build sunfire, thornmail, and straight tank after that and dish out way more damage to darius than to him.Still better in teamfights no need to mention his kit any further.
Maokai- no biggy can be beaten even with his sustain and gank pressure cos well lane is shoved, but them cc!, that damage reduction aoe for his whole team! still more useful in a team fight.
Hecarim- can be beaten, out played provided u built speed and dont take trade or damage when he is using his sustain to trade and dunking with 5 stacks with ignite on asap so when he does ults away he still dies and the 15 in offensive mastery the bonus damage under 50 % health really helps to catch him by surprise. but still better roamer/ ganker/ diver ( tower/backline/dragon or baron) better in team fights.no need to mention is kits any further.
Jax? Sure can beat him ....pre 6. After 6 ?provided u beat him pre 6 or didnt let him free farm pre 6 yes otherwise no.
which is easy if he tower farms or Darius dies to gank.And speaking of his kit. lel the split push! the tower eating!can 1 v 2 easy the burst and overall usefulness......Darius doesn't even come close. That's why Darius had no cd to dunk right after spawning while the other guy can't, because that's what made him strong in his kit.Because that's what he was supposed to be.
Jayce? Yeah can be out played o_O
1.Through speed, cloth armor,5 pots and that 4.5% and 15 -12 -3 and dodge.
and
2.U gotta make sure when to slow or hook at acceleration gate and to be on his side of the turret and him on ur side of the turret b4 he uses his knockback. The hook used to drag him with darius if timed correctly but not after the hook nerf, not anymore :( now it can only drag through flash, jump, dash only to the hooks starting position, not where darius is.so ghost or flash wont help either cos he will use his gate.
3.u have to ward ur lane bush not the river bush, the lane bush. altho wards at both place won't hurt. Just incase he decides to flash on a bush at 5 staks and poke u afar from there and u can't dunk or dodge unless u can c him.
But still who is more useful?Who is a 100 times more useful in team fights? through pokes? escapes ? baron and dragon secure? sniping? If u can guess it right i swear i won't hang myself! congrats u got it right! its Jayce.
Lee sin? Just gotta say it here for the world, for the league community, every darius player hates a lee sin with a passion.
yes can be beaten. sure, but lets just talk about his kit.
Lets just talk about just how useful this guys is, what his job is,
1.he has a free poke/harass just as a mages, followed up by just that big of a kick in the face gap closer.
2.he has a darius aoe cripple (reveal enemies) followed up with sustain.
3. a shield to mitigate damage/ bleeding and a short escape.
4.a knock back ult finisher that goes through the enamies.So if ur following him up on a gank u won't succeed.
5.Any1 ever been trying to escape from lee sin got followed up on his Q kick on the face then a kick back to to ur own tower then a flying kick again as a finisher just 'cos he can to kill u and then verbally abuse u? Well i have, quite a few times, actually, well i played lee sin and ya its just that easy to beat a darius.
But damn those kicks are like really offensive a champion that deals damage by kicking is just offensive,then not the knockback as a finisher but another flying kick on top deliberately, and the abuse on top of that yay bully community.
But still can be beaten and outplayed.......
