I dislike it interupting quinn ulti more. But that would e nice.

Apart from the bonus shield it provides, this is honestly why I'd rather go BT over Death's Dance on Quinn, it's annoying and sometimes even fatal to get knocked out of your ult channel because of the DoT.

You would have been knocked out of your ult channel from the champion attack that proced DD anyways.

Captain Aishi2 votes

correct me if i'm wrong, but the DD's proc could be coming from a minion's attack to interrupt the channel no?

It Hertz When IP1 votes

This. Also, imagine Quinn chasing an Ezreal that flings a Q behind him while running. Quinn goes to ult to really run him into the ground, but promptly fizzles.

Quinn would fizzle out from Ez's Q whether she had DD or not. The Q damage by itself knocks Quinn out of her ult. Quinn would have to wait 3 seconds to ult channel again, and then 2 more seconds for the channel to end. 5 seconds is plenty of time for an Ez to get to safety, no matter how fast Quinn is moving in her ult. The only way to avoid that is by dodging the skill shot. Quinn's ult is not really best for chasing after a fleeing target that the Quinn has been fighting- its best for quickly ganking and intercepting.

DD does not delay reuse of her ult. It last for 3 seconds- and Quinn's ult has a 3s cd (that is not reduced by cdr) if knocked out of the channel. Even if DD didn't stop recalls/channels Quinn would still have to wait the same amount of time to use her ultimate again.

If DD is procced from minions does it knock her out of the ult channel? I never play Quinn- I assumed it would continue channeling. If it does that is the only negative interaction with DD and Quinn's ult.

Be happy you still get spell vamp, on a powerful hybrid offensive and defensive item no less.

ImmortalBloodCY4 votes

Spell vamp doesnt exist anymore.

Only Omnivamp and lifesteal do.

Count Zubat15 votes

Physical spell vamp, ok? Still quite unfair that AD's and hybrid have all these nice things like life steal, omnivamp, physical spell vamp etc. while AP's have only Catalyst passive and their goddamn base health regen.

ImmortalBloodCY3 votes

omnivamp counts as both lifesteal and spell vamp.

Spell Vamp worked only on abilities that dealt magic dmg. Lifesteal work on abilities that deal physical dmg and basic attacks.

There's not physical spell vamp.

Count Zubat11 votes

Nope, life steal works only with auto attacks, only Death's Dance heals off physical damage dealt by abilities (hence why I name it physical spell vamp, because it works like spell vamp we used to have on Hextech Revolver and WotA, but only with physical damage abilities).

ImmortalBloodCY6 votes

Oh, i wasnt sure if Death's Dance heals off physical dmg dealt by abilities.

Bodkins Odds2 votes

Spell vamp never cared about damage type, it only cared about whether the ability was single target. Why do so many people get this wrong?

ImmortalBloodCY1 votes

Because you are getting it wrong.

Spell vamp only procced from Spells, It never procced from physical attacks.

And it never cared about whether the ability was single target after all i kept using Hextech Revolver(Before rework) which had spell vamp and it was procced by Mordekaisers W and E and Q.

Mordekaisers W and E are Area Attacks not single target attacks.

Which proves that Spell vamp procs from spells.

Sadly now spell vamp was removed(It exists only in masteries[I dont remember if runes have it]) so you cant test it out.

Its sad when i get downvotes for no reason but then again i dont care. Downvote as much as you want, it wont change the truth.

majulito2 votes

spell vamp worked off abilites and life steal from auto attacks. death's dance works off of physical spells and since it has lifesteal also works off of auto attacks.

Spell vamp would proc off of aoe and single attack spells but aoe gave reduced healing.

Bodkins Odds1 votes

Actually, Death Dance doesn't have lifesteal. It just applies to all physical damage, which usually includes auto-attacks (except for half of Corki's autos).

Bodkins Odds1 votes

AoE spells only got a third of the healing, hence it cared whether it was single target. Also, again, it did not care about the damage type. Will of the Ancients would have happily healed Urgot for 15% of his Acid Hunter's damage if he were silly enough to build it.

{quoted}

Spell Vamp worked only on abilities that dealt magic dmg.

Incorrect. Spell vamp = healing from ability damage. Doesn't matter what type of damage is dealt.

Riot said long ago spell vamp was "unhealthy" for the game and they had been wanting to find a way to remove it without creating a huge, negative impact. However, due to their AD favoritism, they found a way to allow AD champions to have it exclusively on a highly viable item, since right-clicking for free burst healing was clearly not enough for them.

No, Gunblade is not a viable option on the vast majority of AP champions.

I would love 15% reduced mana costs, but item 3070 only builds into item 3004 which is not great on most AD champs.

Jet Sett2 votes

Essence Reaver

Sire Hippington3 votes

also not great on many ads, as most ad champs that want mana don't want crit.

Jet Sett2 votes

And Tear is pretty awful on most AP champs who don't need that much mana.

Sire Hippington2 votes

just that aps have plenty options for 'not that much mana', though i do fail to see what tear for ap has to do with the mana itemization issues of ad champs(which could be solved by re-adding old ER)

Biff Manly3 votes

I thought the point of this was to discuss champs that DID have mana problems, but you've taken some weird side-path to try and make AP seem unfairly weak

Jet Sett1 votes

We didn't discuss champs with mana problems, we were discussing the ways AD and AP champs deal with mana through itemization.

Biff Manly1 votes

But... but I STARTED this branch of conversation. It branched off of that guy up there talking about all the nice stuff AD got that AP didn't, then I pointed out the mana discount on Tear, then you said that Tear isn't a core item on Shyvana.

Jet Sett1 votes

I said Essence Reaver as a solution to AD champs with mana issues, you said not all AD champs want the crit chance, then I said not all mages want the mana from Tear. Perhaps I didn't state my position properly or else I wouldn't be getting treated like a stupid ass, so please, explain this for me. It's clear I don't fully understand what anyone here is trying to say, so could you please explain the issue?

Biff Manly1 votes

I didn't say anything to you about the crit on essence reaver. That was a completely different person. So you can keep arguing with me, I guess? If you really want to?

Jet Sett1 votes

I don't think it really matters, what can we possibly say that'll change our opinions or outlook on this? I'll accept that I was wrong on this one, have a good day.

Sire Hippington3 votes

it would be nice if it counts as self inflicted damage(health costs) for the purpose of in/out-off combat. The fact that it delays your out of combat status makes it quite annoying on many champs that theoretically could use it, like garen and his passive, and even reksai and her ult. Useing it together with item 3117 and the cloud or ocean drake also feels bad.

Sypher The Poro2 votes

It's a core part of my Riven build, and this is incredibly annoying. Sometimes when you're just 100 gold away from that next big item so you go do a jungle camp, but now have to wait 5 more seconds just so you can start recall.

KANYE OBAMA GOD1 votes

It shouldn't interrupt things like Quinn ult and the like but you're taking damage still so it should stop recall.

LatetotheRace1 votes

When we nerf Graves, I will allow this.
