Can I get punished for playing off-meta?

Lapis··1 votes·651 views

I'd like to play support Tristana, since I love Tristana and only play support. In normals of course! I wouldn't want to get in trouble for this though.

In ranked? Yes Riot has been known to enforce the meta and ban for troll picks. In norms? Have fun, no action will be taken for picking off meta.

It highly depends on how angry people can get when you play with them bot lane. Playing off meta isn't reportable in itself but if everyone you play with, hates playing with tristana support and threaten to report you, then it most likely can lead to a punishment. I would recommend doing it with a friend at bot lane instead of playing with randoms.

No, not if you're trying to win. If you're forcing your team to bend over backwards to an entirely different playstyle completely, it might be more questionable.

Support Tristana is... tbh, I don't really see the point. Try picking up the bot lane carry role and play with her instead? You'd be better off with support Miss Fortune or some other poke support with decent utility.
