Yi idea: Wuju Style does Double Strike on next basic attack

SlashStriker··1 votes·484 views

The general idea is to improve one of Master Yi's ability – Wuju Style which will improve both his ganking potential and his laning phase without changing the numbers of his kit

passive: grands 10% AD when wuju is not on cooldown

active: grands bonus true damage for 5 seconds. (new) Additionally resets the attack timer as the next basic attack will be Double Strike stealing 20% movement speed which decays over 1 second

This will give Master Yi's a better way to gank since nearly every jungler have some form of crowd control and will improve his laning ability

For the jungle Wuju Style stealing some movement speed from his target as a form of soft crowd control will majorly improve Master Yi as a jungler, allowing him better ganking potential slow his opponent and gain movement speed which fits his thematics of Speedster

On laning phase Master Yi and his opponents will be mindful of Master Yi's Double Strike. When Double Strike is up Yi can land a it on his opponent and immediately use Wuju Style for another double strike with auto reset. At the same time Yi will be able to setup a ganks for his junglers slowing his opponent making it harder for them to escape

This already exists. It's called W-reset.

So you want to give someone who already excels in dueling more dueling power?

as much as I don't like that suggestion, Yi's duelling power is all in his attack speed and on-hit damage. An auto reset barely changes anything to that.

Late game it wouldn't really do anything. The problem is early game, when he wants to get strong. A good yi player is already scary. I'd rather they not be able to double strike me twice in the timespan of 2 auto attacks (which wouldn't be long since he literally just reset it) just because they pressed E which already gave them bonus true damage. I just don't see it being a good change in the short run. It would make him more snowbally, they'd nerf his numbers to compensate, you'd be forced into a certain rune / build path to compensate for that, etc.

Yeah it is true the q auto E reset W reset is substantial burst. In any case I think Yi needs buffing right now his state is rather bad. But I don't think this kind of change would do.
