Vladimir and how I feel he could be improved

I played a lot of Vladimir pre-rework, ensuring I had 4 stacks on E and slamming Q for devastating dmg/spell vamp, he was in this state for 5 seasons without too many problems. When playing him, I always thought it wasn't his absurd healing that was op, rather that he became too tanky to burst, therefore he could always heal despite getting combo'd. Now with the new Vladimir, instead of toning down the fact he becomes a mage tank, they decided to keep him tanky but reduce healing frequency and power? Yet still try to identify him as a healer??? Why not change his passive so he doesn't become naturally tanky and return his healing abilities?

Just some food for thought

Just slap Spell Vamp back in the game. It's probably the thing I'll miss the most on LoL.

EDIT: After stackable item 3072 that gave you 100 AD.

Have you seen how much he heals with his empowered Q? Even if he goes very Tanky, it heals a percentage of Missing Health, which also scales with AP. Now you practically have to build both AP and HP to get powerful heals, in contrast to old Vladimir, who just needed Will of the Ancients(and sometimes Spirit Visage) and then go full AP.

Also, if you manage your Q-s correctly, you will prepare an empowered Q everytime you use a normal Q.

One more thing to note is that Spirit Visage has been buffed, and now it is a core item that actually can be rushed just to counter your opponent.

I find the new vlad more fun to play. I like the massive (in)frequent bursts of healing he gets.

I preferred old Vlad to new Vlad. I don't enjoy his new E that burns your health in the middle of team fight. I liked him better as a tanky mage who (the way I built him) didnt deal as much damage as a carry midlaner but could sit in a fight for prolong periods of time, healing damage dealt to him with consistent DPS. New Vlad has trouble 1v1 an adc mid game if he doesnt get his ult off, its depressing. He is healthier for the game now I guess, but I will now only rarely pick him on occasion.

tl;dr - Rather have him deal less damage and heal + tank more.
