Is RIOT going to make new champions, and forget the old?

I really miss some old champions that once had a place in this game, but RIOT either changed them which destroyed the champion itself, or they came into the meta and were nerfed into the dirt. I think it's great that they keep on adding more variety in place styles with the newer champions, but what about the old guys? I loved Aatrox, but in 7.5 they gutted him for no reason, I use to love nunu, but he serves no purpose with the newer heroes.

What I'm trying to get at is, does RIOT realize that with every new champion released, the older guys stay bad, and will probably get worse?

They have already stated that they are slowing down the new champs and working on more VGUs. Something like 40% new 60% vgu

they do champion gameplay updates/reworks about as often as new champions are released, most recent being eve and swain being next up. what old champions are you talking about?

Riot has been updating champions at an unprecedented rate the past 3 years. Since season 5, all of these champions have gotten reworks or significant updates.

That's 73 champions, which is over half the roster, which have had significant work in just the past 3 years. Forget new champs? On the contrary.
