This is not how Silence is supposed to work

"Silence" is a type of crowd control meant to prevent enemies from casting abilities.

Rammus was recently updated- focusing his Powerball and Defensive Ball Curl.

However, a niche in the kit allows silences to deactivate Rammus' Powerball after he already cast the ability.

This is a huge flaw in the system- as silences do not affect any other champion in this way.

Note- Powerball is not a Channeled Ability.

It is now. And yes silence shuts down ALL CHANNELING

Mister Modesty1 votes

No it is not. A channel is an ability that requires a duration of time before it is cast. Rammus casts Powerball immediately, therefore it is not a channel. Learn basic syllogism, friend.

silence breaks kat ult, so it makes sense to disable ramus q(under the logic of it being a channel now)

Katarina's Ultimate is a channel- it has a channel bar. Rammus' Q does not have a channel bar because it is not a channel. Just like Garen's E- which is not cancelled by silence. Stop trolling.

I'm not against the idea of him not being silenced out. But a cast time is pre spell, channels are like malz and kat ults, yi w and the like

Mister Modesty1 votes

Exactly. Powerball isn't a channel. It's more comparable to Garen's Judgement. Something that continues and gains potency after use, but is not a channel.

Silence also retracts Sol's stars and makes them do zero damage. Cancels Cait ult, etc.

Mister Modesty1 votes

Sol's stars consume mana over time and is a toggle ability. Powerball is not a toggle ability nor does it consume mana over time. Examples of toggle abilities: Cho Gath's E Aurelion's W Singed's E etc.

Howerver, a good example of my concern is Garen. His E is cast upon use and is not cancelled by silence. Garen keeps spinning, why doesn't Rammus?

Vekkna1 votes

Silence makes Sol's stars deal no damage even when they're retracted and cost no mana.

I don't recall him being affected by silence like that, but I'll take your word for it. Even so- it shouldn't affect Sol like that either! That is not how the effect Silence is meant to work.

It's a buff lmao!

That's how silence are supposed to work since they made Rammus Q a channeled ability right now, however I think they should make it like Lucian's ultimate where silences don't interrupt it.

Mister Modesty1 votes

It's not a channel ability. There's no channel. It's cast upon use.

Rammus Q is a channeled ability. Hence why it takes 2-3 seconds to get to max speed.

Mister Modesty1 votes

BY that Logic, Garen's E should be a channel because it takes 2-3 strikes to get max utility.

They changed it this patch.
