Well she can't get a penta kill by pressing R repeatedly pre-6 so the first two minutes of the game are pretty fair.

Sometimes I wonder what they focus on as far as champion balance.

Lee Sin still hasn't been properly fixed.

Every time they "nerf" either Kha or Rengar that just slowly buff them back up over time

they've broken the actual top lane champions to the point they can all be abused by champions like Ryze (Renekton, Shyv, Mundo, etc constantly nerfed throughout 2014 which led to ranged champs just making sense slowly but surely)

Look at their "nerfing" of Lucian that took away the mana cost on his dash in that derpy patch that in turn made him so broken they completely removed him from competitive play for about 2 weeks until they nerfed him.

Tristana was overtuned and allowed to be ridiculous for months

Lucian has been the top ADC since about 2 months after his release and champions like Ashe are near completely useless in comparison (not saying Ashe is bad but the two of them matched up together is far from fair if the players are even skilled)

There is a long list of things that seem blatantly obvious that they somehow miss or dance around for months. It is no surprise really that Akali is being ignored. Probably they think she is "okay" because Pro players haven't pulled her out too successfully in the LCS or at worlds so screw solo queue. hate to say it but <_< they haven't shown me it is any other way for years now.

Sadly this seems to be all riot cares about.....except...there are plenty of champs that are op and WELL overplayed in the LCS that aren't being touched.....like what seems to be the new Riot poster boy or something Lee Sin cause that dude seems to be all but untouchable.

The last "nerf" he received was the biggest joke I've ever seen, and they were so proud of it like "look guys, see we nerfed Lee Sin" while everyone rolled their eyes.

they are not touched because they define the lcs champion pool if they meedle with those champions they will cause a total change in the lcs meta, meaning that the most succesfull team will be the one who finds the best things first (aka the lucky one) instead of the one who plays better they will touch that popular champion if he realy dominates the lcs (lee sin) but beside that they are afraid to even move a finger because lcs rules them

It is how they buff and nerf, or the lack there of that has forced those champions to be strong or weak, which shifts the Meta. It should never be up to Riot to enforce the Meta, but they have time and time again by refusing to let certain champions stray out of their intended roles outside of a select few.

the reason they don't touch champions like Lee Sin and Thresh barely at all is "flashy plays" that they seem to prefer over health of champion pools. Pros want to play other champions, because they tend to say so quite a lot, but they know what is "OP" and what just won't work, because Riot balance is wonky as hell sometimes, which they also tend to say quite a lot.
