Before the patch, it took 5 seconds in combat to match Double Edged Sword's damage.
Now Battle Trance can match it's damage without the 1.5% return damage in only 3 seconds.
It's like 40% less ramp-time now than it was to gain the full effect, I feel like it's probably going to completely drown the other 2 out.
3 seconds is a long time outside of laning phase.
Battle Trance is a bit annoying for JG since unlike Bounty Hunter, it can't help your clear time.
most assassins and mages have to kill you in less than 3 seconds or they are dead
assassins have spent their whole combo by the end of second 1 or maybe 2, they do not want battle trance. artillery mages deal their damage at second 0 and then disengage, they do not want battle trance.
DES does seem to have been nerfed in power relative to the other options in that tier, but I think it was in general overpowered before, there were a ton of champions who I thought would love bounty hunter or battle trance who were instead just taking DES and performing at least as well.
Yeah it looks very good on everything but assassins.
Therefore I will stick to bounty hunter.
