league of counterplay

i just wanted to state my opinion

everything in lol is good, as long as you dont go owerboard with it

its aimed at riot and their decisions lately (very long term lately)

-new champions we got a champ like every 2 weeks was it (dont realy remeber) result, half of our champion pool (if not more) doesnt get played due to the lack of unique niche, they get picked on a simple comparison of who has better numbers now, diversity suffers

-mobility is fun so riot makes some champions with fun mobility, and then makes champions who do everything while also using their mobility and have even more mobility on top of that, comunity gets angry since we lose diversity and lol becomes crappier game

-counterplay is required for a good game so riot adds counterplay everywhere without noticing how that impacts ballance loads of skillshots=unreliable dmg/ game becomes more like call of duty, also reduction in strategic aspects of the game (since dodging wins ower everything) lack of point and click cc= a buff to everything that is mobile since you cant hit it since mobile champions get an upper hand, diversity suffers

the thing is that lol is game about everything (ofc not literaly everything... but there is some nice porn of it) but there needs to be "ballance", and it seems that riot doesnt realy go into ballance any further than "nerf the op guys, and change the top picks for a while" or "add some random stuff to make it look like we improve our game beetwen seasons"

kinda saddening

tl;dr riot does a lot of work but i think that they dont realy think about the bigger picture, hence their stuff backfires often

Water is wet.

They are also pretty biased with some decitions.

counterplay is important. if every champion has clear counterplay, and there is room for mistakes on both sides, then the outcome of a fight is more based on skill than a champion just countering another champions kit.

and right now, theyre fixing problematic champions, loaded with on target abilities. in some cases, like zeds ult for example, these abilites arent unhealthy. but in some other cases, it can make a champion far too reliable.

ryze w, which is his main selling point as a champion who counters mobility, is still point and click by the way.

my point is that they tend to go owerboard with their policies, which hurts the game

well the amount of champions they pumped out is the biggest offender, it cripled ballance (many of them are unviable competetively, due to their rushed desings), and they need to rework stuff now which is basicaly making the same champion again (it should be shorter, but if they do it correctly now it will prolly take more time than this champion was actualy made)

i definitely agree on that.

shitting out a champion every 2 weeks to meet a deadline was a bad decision.
