More than just damage, I think some turrets need a slowing attack
In Heroes of the Storm, diving a Fort or Keep is very risky because it not only does a lot of damage, but its attack inflicts a slow on heroes. Yes, it doesn't have the same aggro mechanics as League, but the point still stands - the slow can absolutely screw over your attempts at a dive.
With players rarely ever caring about turret damage, turrets are almost never a safe haven. You still get dived, and you still get killed unless you use
or something else.
Just for theory, what if the Inner and/or Inhibitor Turrets had a slow added to their attacks? It'd make mid-to-late-game dives much more perilous, but doesn't affect early-to-mid dives when Outer Turrets are still functional. Adjusting only their damage doesn't work, IMO, because it's impossible to balance with just that one lever; either the damage is too high and thus diving is suicide, or it's too low and gets ignored. A slow, on the other hand, makes turrets a much bigger hazard by hampering your mobility, which your enemy could easily exploit. You either have to get someone else to aggro the turret first so they get slowed (ideally, your tank), or you need to play more cautiously. Plus, having a slow just adds more balance levers for Riot to pull, giving them more flexibility in how they can handle things.
Discussion on this idea would be appreciated.
,even
cause her backwards net dash as a finisher could be enough to get her out)
from diving but I assume we all agree that's okay.
