Can we give ASol a little more power behind his ult?

It's not a continuous wave like Velkoz has. It's a one time burst. Can we give it just a bit more power. Since ASol isn't a burst champion, in a very bursty meta and game, I feel like adding a kick to his ult would be good. Most of the time you're just using his ult to either slow or kick someone off of you since almost everyone can just dive you to insta pop you at this point. Maybe more power or a burn or something. A dragon's breath should do something since it's their most power attack. His ult should make people rethink diving him a little.

The point of it is to knock people away from him into his outer circle though.

Aside from immobile tanks, that almost works on no one. All the assassins or mobile champions can literally stand on top of you and no matter which direction you shoot, it won’t knock them away.

Because they have mobility to come back? They way you phrased it implies it doesn’t knock them back.

And as you said yourself, Sol isn’t a burst champion. Giving him burst wouldn’t be good balance wise.

they don't get knocked back at all. You sit on top of sol and you can't be hit. Also his levels of damage from his ult need to be higher.

The reason his ultimate is strong is because it is nearly instantaneous. It is nearly impossible to dodge.

Yes, it does fire fast, does it do any damage? No 200 damage is a joke. Compare it to Vel, whose ult Is near impossible to get away from because it’s incredibly long and can change directions while your in it and lasts for a long time. Comparing it to ASols make ASols look like a joke.

Their range is the 50 units off in favor of Vel'Koz Their cooldown is in favor of Aurelion Sol by 10 seconds at all ranks Mana cost is the same

Casting time / duration: Aurelion Sol - Instant / instant Vel'Koz - Instant / 2.5 second (channel)

Damage: Aurelion Sol - 150 / 250 / 350 (+70% AP) (instant) magic damage Vel'Koz - 45 / 62.5 / 80 (+12.5% AP) per 0.25 seconds magic (situational true) damage

Crowd Control: Aurelion Sol - Airborne / knockback / (40 / 50 / 60%) slow for 2 seconds Vel'Koz - 20% slow for 1 second (refreshed per 0.25 seconds)

I think they're pretty balanced in respect to each other . Not that neither could be tweaked in either direction, but Sol doesn't need anything substantial.

I have no complaints about his range or mana cost so this one is a tie.

Casting time / duration: Aurelion Sol - Instant / instant Vel'Koz - Instant / 2.5 second (channel)

Here is where it gets going, 2.5 seconds vs instant is a big big difference.

Damage: Aurelion Sol - 150 / 250 / 350 (+70% AP) (instant) magic damage Vel'Koz - 45 / 62.5 / 80 (+12.5% AP) per 0.25 seconds magic (situational true) damage

Let's say they have 500 ap. 70%*500=350 at max Asol does 350+350 - 700 damage. Vel does 80+(500x12.5%)=142.5 damage. Now thats is every .25 seconds. 2.5 x 10=2.5 seconds. So that is 10 x 142.5 = 1,425 damage total. Add a Rylais to its slow and it's impossible to escape without burning flashes.

1425 to 700 damage at max at 500 ap. 700+700=1400 over twice the damage. Me asking for like 1000 or even 850 damage isn't so bad. Or even a burn affect so it doesn't just do nothing. But besides that Asol can't build pure ap. He needs to be to close to champion and can easily get popped so think 250-300 ap at most on a average game. The other part is tank.

Crowd Control: Aurelion Sol - Airborne / knockback / (40 / 50 / 60%) slow for 2 seconds Vel'Koz - 20% slow for 1 second (refreshed per 0.25 seconds)

I think he does considering he is all about maintaining mana and positioning and is considered one of the hardest champions to play.

Ah, .. one match on The Crystal Scar playing Vel'Koz .. this response makes a lot more sense now.

But still, surely you've played against a Vel'Koz before ...

You clearly don't realize how difficult it is to keep someone in the beam for the full duration. Honestly, it can even be hard to hold the beam on the when they are just walking in one direction lol.

Even if you manage to keep the beam on them for half of the time, they are taking about the same amount of damage. That's assuming they don't use any dashes, shields, heals, summoners, .. and turning the beam is slow. ..

What do you have to do to hit someone with 700 damage from Aurelion Sol? ... It's practically a point and click ability!

Stop, please.

Umm your joking right? telling me about positioning with vel, when ASOL is the most difficult positioning champion in the game........ Do you know the bullshit your put threw to be in position with Asol....You need to fucking check yourself. I did the math for you and you can clearly see the difference.

Elite4Runner1 votes

I didn't say Aurelion Sol didn't require positioning.

but while we are on the subject, and continuing with the comparison of these two champions, Vel'Koz is locked into place during his channel time. HE LITERALLY CAN'T MOVE AND USE HIS ULTIMATE. Using his ultimate makes him vulnerable.

Aurelion Sol pauses long enough for his animation, .. which is about as long as a single auto attack, and he pushes enemies away from him. His ultimate is self peel, giving him safety in regards to positioning. And it places the enemy at the proper range to hit them with his stars and follow up with a stun from his Q.

I think id be cool if he cool use his ult for short length of time perhaps as an escape or to gank more often. And if used for set durstion only then the cooldown would be shorter

Who Fed Ru1 votes

He is already strong enough lmao.

Imo his ult is fine as it is.

It's not just a burst but a way to overcome his most evident weakness (melee range) and an awesome displacement/slow that allows teamfights/ganks to be fruitful.

What he needs are better choices and synergy in itemization.
