Would the community ever be ok with Riot REMOVING a champion?

Poll below, but I'm really curious as to your thoughts. Suffice to say, I'm not saying "lol delet teemo XD XD" or any sort of joke. I mean an actually removed champion.

We'll find out the answer when they remove Sona. She's at the top of the list for champs Riot wants gone from the game.

Here comes the Sona circle jerk.

I don't care if your League of Legends memorabilia says otherwise. The entire world does not revolve around Sona.

they removed karma and alot of players disliked (me too)

For most of the playerbase, nerfing a champion to extremely weak levels is effectively the same as removing it. Complete reworks like Sion has effectively the same as deleting an old champion and replacing it with a new one.

No matter what they do, it doesn't feel good for the players who invested time and money on a champion. But straight up removing a champion without leaving anything in its place is the worst thing they could do.

Agreed.

If it's Teemo, yes.

Well, they removed Sion from the game, and replaced him with some bullshit monstrosity that doesn't even remotely capture the playstyle they said they wanted to encourage.

Then they gave his shield back AP scalings, even though it was one of the two abilities on which they complained AP scalings were broken.

So Sion went from a champion with a long CD stun and a shield that scaled on AP (which most people used as utility spells) to a champion with a long CD slow and a shield that scales on AP.

Riot's balance team made a major series of errors with this champion, and I'd say that Sion is no longer in the game.

Hey, at least he was finally played in the LCS.

He actually made an LCS appearance in old ahnold-stein form... but that still doesn't excuse it.

Nope. Don't like the idea at all. If a champion is horrible then rework it (such as Sion), but never remove a champion entirely. That would make fans of the champion mucho upsetto :3

The closest Riot will/has come to deleting a champion is deleting a champions kit and rebuilding it completely (or almost completely).

I say no. Every champ, even Urgot has its mains and fans.

I would be mad if my main was deleted

Linna Excel1 votes

Soraka got deleted in her rework. Poppy is about to get deleted. See that's what riot does, they don't outright delete champs they rework them into something completely different. For some it helps them. For other champs, not so much.

Considering I have a small idea of what it costs to make a champion, and that idea is likely underselling it- hell no, way too much work goes into making a champion to remove it. There's some fans who endlessly cry over a champ they think is toxic and should be removed- and frankly, they're just a bit silly.

"Malzahar is a stupid, broken champion, please remove" "Teemo is so toxic, Rito delete him" "Warwick 100-0 me with ult+smite, this sucks"

Peeps just need to learn how to play against certain champs.

Sion was removed already technically right?
