Yesterday I decided to play some blindpick with some friends. I chose to go a little "off meta" and support at Rammus, since my ADC skills are left to be desired. And things were setting off to a decent start. Our team scores first blood, But then something happens.

MissFortune 1st time support I see... Rammus What do you mean? MissFortune Just don't support next game...

With this distraction I am pushed to the side by Poppy and die to Vayne

I was building armor for obvious reasons but apparently being tanky is wrong when you support? I am pretty sure there is some rule that I am overlooking that you MUST follow when legit being a support, but in a normal match that's not how I wanted to do it. Still to shut her up, instead of rushing my usual build I got item 3050.

We find ourselves in good spot as both the enemy bot laners are gone, so we start at the turret. And since I am sure we are low on time I use R to speed up the process and guess what.

MissFortune OMFG you are ulting the turret? Rammus What is wrong with that? It destroys towers too. MissFortune Ugh. Just surrender at 20. You can't do anything the right way.

First confrontation with other laners of the enemy team and we get stomped.

MissFortune OMG Report Rammus! Rammus I'm not built the way I need to be because you keep whining about my build and shit! You know what? fuck it. I'm building the way I WANT TO. MissFortune You don't even know how to build or support *starts vote to surrender Veigar We aren't even behind! NO! MissFortune GUYS FF OR I SWEAR I WILL UNFRIEND YOU ALL!! Rammus Relax! In the end it's all just a game. MissFortune I'm done talking to you Rammus!

We then proceed to Snowball taking out both their top and mid lanes. The latter after 2 manning Baron. Rammus Oh gee what a surprise, building the way I WANT got me ahead of Poppy AND Vayne MissFortune ... don't invite me next.... Rammus .......................OK

So, the moral of the story is: Don't whine about pointless crap in a flippin' Normal game. Isn't that supposed to be the mode that is equivalent to free match in ANY fighting game? Where the win doesn't even matter beyond how much currency you get, which isn't even spiked up a lot if you do win. This IS still a game isn't it?

I use the ignore command, it's OP. It's really easy to use too, /ignore {name} or click the little speaker icon near their name on the score screen. It's solved every solo queue issue I've ever seen. Don't even need a tribunal really, unless they want to do "unskilled" again.

Play/build whatever the hell you want in normals, I don't care. What I will NOT tolerate, however, are people who go into normals with the mentality of "it's just a normal, I can be a total idiot and not even try to win". This is wrong. It's NOT ok for you to ignore basic rules of common sense (e.g. not warding, trying to fight a fed enemy while significantly behind, getting caught out all the time), and it's NOT ok for you to intentionally troll your team (e.g. going into the jungle and taking all the camps, using Tahm's W to keep people in the base, never joining in teamfights or pushing objectives).

I was never trolling. And I was building the way I thought was the most effective. My point is, You can't get bent out of shape just because your team isn't doing perfect. By no means am I saying, don't try or just dick around all game. But it's still a game and you should have fun with it. And that one guy that just whines about anything and everything that goes slightly wrong is not fun. It's annoying. I did my best as a Tank for my team and In normals that should be all that really matters.

Build what is effective for your lane and role. If you're supporting, at the very least, get sightstone. Besides that, build whatever is effective for your champ. Just remember as support it's your job to protect your adc and get them fed, as well as provide vision on the map. Yes, the whole team is meant to, but it is one of your main roles. Yellow trinkets now are hardly enough. Sightstone and pinks are the way to go, as well as switching to sweeper to deny vision as well.
