About the Shotcalling Honor

Change it back to Teamwork please. Teamwork goes in many other positive ways than a bunch people trying to tell others what to do when they in reality haven't the foggiest Idea. I see this promoting toxicity over reducing it. The other two are fine but, I've seen the fight for dominance of Shotcallers before and it's not pretty and makes custom games uncomfortable sometimes.

It's not toxic if someone tells you to go take baron or push mid.

Huh, to be honest I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I've never seen a person become toxic trying to get honored, so I doubt that's going to change.

is the honor system active now? I just played a game and no vote at the end (it was ranked, if that matters)

True. Can confirm.

Shotcalling doesn't imply one person leading the team from start to finish. This is what implies when we talk about the pro scene as teams have a team leader that the rest of the teammates follow their lead. But any kind of shotcalling is possible in a team of 5 solo players so basically, any action from a teammate that lead to a very positive outcome to your team is what is implied for this category.

So i don't really see why Riot needs to change it back to Teamwork as teamwork implies something that lasts the entirety of the game, rather than outlining that one beneficial call to action when it mattered the most. Teamwork is a rather general term that's not clearly defined while the categories we have now fall under Teamwork and are rather specific in nature.

I don't think the patch has shipped yet

If people conflate "head coach" and "shotcaller" it will be misery.

If people take "shotcaller" to mean an occasional, "hey, they have 2 down, want to take Baron" like more of a "suggestion caller" then it will be OK.

I would prefer that they just kept it as "teamwork" as it seems to implicate the "suggestion caller" thing more.

Why cant we honor more than one person?? @riot

I dunno, people often don't listen to you anyway, even if you are the one who is setting up the whole baron dance or just vision around baron and see their ADC and Jungler(for some wierd soloQ reasons) on botlane, they'll be like: Nah, we're good, but that raptor camp seems rather important ..

I think GG is supposed to be the teamwork thing. It says that the player was normally friendly.

Shot caller is for people whom were leaders, and were making good calls. Or probably people whom were using the ping system really well.

I normally get it as a jungler. Kindred might have a passive that favors the enemy and the update is slow. But when the mark goes away or the voice is prompted you know where the enemy Jungler is in the last 5-10 seconds. And you can tell your team mates to back off from the impending gank.

The best division should be: Attitude - Leadership - Teamplay

There is a huge difference between Leadership and Teamplay, one can easily come in help of others without giving directions or any kind of strategy while a good leader might end with 0 assists and not a single "helping" play. I know some ppl will just try to roder things around but overall having some1 who can lead well a group or give directions is a major victory factor and should be rewarded.

I thought the same but frankly if anyone is aggressively making shot calls like some kinda wanna be coach, thats more annoying than anything and will make me less likely to honor someone.

Ubermacht6/29/2017, 8:26:24 AM1 votes

I agree, the amount of lower elo arguments that are gonna happen because two players are "shot-calling" isn't worth it.

Cowseed6/29/2017, 10:59:32 AM1 votes

Bronze kinda needs this so I think it should stay. I've been on many-a-team where it seems I'm the only one going after anything other than kills so I assume that 3/5 bronze teams have no idea what there doing whenever at most points in the match.

MonkeyMadness6/29/2017, 11:34:18 AM1 votes

Agreed. This will cause nothing but bullshit calls from honor whores. People who want to take charge already do, and they don't need honor to encourage them to do it.

However, if Riot actually does feel the need to incentivize shot calling, perhaps there is a deeper problem within this community...

I find your concern admirable, and I will definitively remember this going into the new honor update. My own hope is that it promotes a little more communication, which I so often see lack of, don't you agree? Regardless, I hold my breath until I see examples in person, but thank you for bringing this to my attention, I did not see it from this angle!
