but supports don't actually exist in the game per se.. they have specific jobs they can do that are not the same. Example Janna can peels Meanwhle Soraka heals and nami heals and is a strong disruptor.

What works is starting item 3302 item 3303 item 3301 if you are in the support role. You don't get shit out of luck behind from not getting cs and the ADC doesn't have to share so they can build for dealing damage.

What also works is item 2045 because that item 3711 you're jungler probably didn't even build isn't going to cut it alone. Supports are commonly expected to have utility and you lose none building it.

It's suboptimal to split jungle farm between two junglers because of how long camp respawn times are. If you're playing a champ who can't clear your red side in the time it takes for your blue side to respawn and then go gank a lane or something, you're not playing a viable JG champ right now.

The only reason double smite (support and JG) would work is if the supp were using smite to secure cannon minions for targons, helping with objective control in the form of scuttle and drag, and maybe using that smite for invades into the enemy jungle while his/her ADC is pushed up and they have vision on the enemy jg.

It's not optimal especially when you have a jungler that does full clears no problem.

If takes her whole red side and immediately ganks she would head to her blue side afterwards would she not? If your own team is taking your jungle that's exp you don't get so you can keep up with the enemy jungler. The only time its usually optimal to share jungle is when a lane his horridly behind and cannot safely get farm without risk of more death or when the lane is so dangerously pushed it is better to take krugs or gromp or roam.

If you just take camps during laning you are forciing the jungler to make actions that can screw them or your team as they would need to leech exp from a solo lane or force a gank that isn't even there. Also the gold you take is something to consider. And don't even try to say they can just counter jungle because if it is something like Shyvana Graves Hecarim Rengar Khazix there is a chance the jungler won't be able to duel them especially if they are down a level due to what gold/exp was taken from them. There is no reason for a support to be taking jungle resources because it starves the jungler. starter support items exist for a reason.

The only time I even ever see duo jungle is when it's a 5 man and at that point it's all in consent and in voice coms possibly.

If your support takes from your jungler, that's not optimal. If your support feeds the enemy jungler, that is not optimal. It is rarely, if ever, optimal to split resources.

Support has a large impact on the game. I never said it didn't. However just like every other role if you don't do your job and play with your and the enemy's strengths in mind you WILL become dead weight. If the support isn't supporting the team has higher chance of losing. If the tank top isn't Tanky the team has a higher chance of losing. Assassin Mid doesn't know how to roam? Jungler doesn't provide pressure to the map? Marksman has shit cs? all higher chances to lose. The support does indeed make a huge difference in bot lane so if it is taking long periods of time doing nothing of actual value OUTSIDE of bot lane where it is commonly needed most that IS the fault of the support. Remember, Marksman are more commonly dove when the support is not there.

I build sightstone as the jungler on occasion. That reduced cooldown for other items like item 3512 item 3107 item 3800 item 3143 item 3190 can be nice. It's just too bad that all of the jungle champions I play kind of got screwed with the jungle changes this season due to extreme lack of clear speed. Sejuani Nunu Rammus

Lol I used to get flamed for picking Ivern support with smite. This was back in S6 though. Ivern can't leash, he can't hurt the camps, so instead of leashing I'd go and steal the enemy's blue/red. I'd put a pink in a nearby bush and sit in it, then when it spawned I'd Q in, smite it, then leave before they finished leashing gromp (if they even were bot.) After that, I'd take scuttle/their blue everytime smite was up. It put their jungler really far behind, and gave me a lot of gold/exp. It gave the ADC extra exp too because they'd get that solo lane exp. I'd try to gank mid whenever I got scuttle. It worked super well. Sadly with the way camps spawn now this isn't as viable because they start with the buff.

The moral of the story is I got flamed so hard and reported so many times. By the jungler for "not leashing." By the ADC for "leaving for a little bit every so often." By the enemies because they were salty. But I never got banned or even chat restricted or anything. I can't imagine how many reports you'd need to actually be banned. And if you're getting that many you're clearly doing something wrong.
