So I'm confused about the Mundo buffs

The timing just feels kind of good and bad at the same time. Mundo has a pretty rough time right now top lane while holding a decent win rate in the jungle, so Riot decides to buff him by moving towards a more anti-magic damage tank with the resist stack on his E and the autogeneration from his W ticks. That's great, it makes him more niche and less of a generalist.

However, Riot also just gave us item 3076 , an incredibly cheap tank item that basically counters Mundo entirely. Remember why Mundo fell out of popularity in the first place? It was flat nerfs plus the rise in popularity of item 3033 , which people figured out destroys him, along with several other healing based champions (cough Vladimir cough). Then you have item 3165 , which is an item that every mage will build pretty much and is a counter from the class that Riot is moving towards being a 'countet' to. Now with item 3076 in the picture, which builds into item 3075 so it works against the hyper healing ADCs and assassins building item 3153 item 3812 and item 3072, tanks have almost no reason not to rush just the vest to counter Mundo in lane and then finish it later, since thornmail is an item with total armor scaling. And the best part? Mundo is arguably suppose to counter tank laners since he has % max HP magic damage, high sustain, and damage that scales off his max hp, but this item makes it to where tanks can just buy it, and Mundo can't commit to a trade unless he pokes them low enough with Q to actually do something. Now that tanks, ADCs, and APCs all have ways to optimize directly against Mundo, there's not really a point in playing him over other juggernauts or regular tanks who don't have that liability.

The buffs are nice, don't get me wrong, but I don't foresee it mattering, since anyone can build against him now, and tanks get an item that counters him and ADCs all in one, for 900 gold.

Bramble vest doesn't actually affect Mondo much. It only applies its debuff when hit with a basic attack, and for a rather short time at that. As Mondo does not build life steal or do most of his damage with autos, the grievous wounds effect is easily avoided and does not actually impact him much.

Redundancy is a gaming company's finest weapon. The reasoning to change must always exist, otherwise we'll never have anything new to experience.

That slight bias aside, if it's true Mundo has been buffed, I'd test him in spite of this new item. Use to be a Mundo main for awhile, and I'd love to get into that big ball of purple slobbering bit of muscle.

The only time bramble vest would effect mundo is if you ult and are hitting a tank. But why would you do that in the first place?
