This is a net nerf in disguise. Dont be fooled. Minions doing extra dmg to towers and gaining 25 ms is no joke, but 300 hp is a joke. Demolish sion does over double that dmg after he charges up demolish.
If anything it’s a buff to early game durability and a nerf to mid-late game.

So basically doubling up on what everyone is complaining about. Well played Riot.
Except what everyone is complaining about is how turrets are supposed to work in MOBA's. At the beginning of the game, they keep you safe long enough for you to get reasonably built, and then you are supposed to protect them.
What's actually needed that will address people's concerns without making games significantly longer is an overhaul of how turrets pick targets. A tank who goes under the turret first shouldn't keep aggro when they're doing nothing to the enemy champ who's getting destroyed to the tank's allies under turret.
And I remember back in Season 4 unless you played Jax or Tryndamere or another champion that split pushed really well, towers took a while before they fell. The only time towers should be falling as fast as they are is if you've got a Tristana, Ziggs, or other attack reset based champion like Wukong that can dunk towers well with 3 mountain drakes. But you've got champs like Annie that have the lowest attack speed in the game split pushing effectively without using Tibbers. It's completely ridiculous.
We didn't have mountain drakes in S4 last I checked...
I know. I have no problem with mountain drakes. They're an objective, and objectives like that should have alot of power to them. But you don't need a mountain drake to turn towers into paper right now, and that's not ok unless you've got a champ that's built around dunking towers, like Mister Yi, Tristy, Jax, Wukong, ZIggs, etc.

Exactly. Only 300 health but 10% more minion damage? And what is this ms boost to minions?? Won't it just make the snowballing even worse than before? Seems very counter-intuitive to me...
Minions will actually be doing 20% more damage than they previously did to towers (10% is 20% of 50%).

You are perfectly right (both of you guys). I didn't think it through, my bad.
I mean don't minions still have that passive were the winning team minions are stronger? So they push even faster towards the losing team? Reduce us some snowball eh? Make comebacks happen more frequently ehehehe.
Lol I first read that as "After 20 minutes, turrets gain +25 move speed" and was like "Damn straight you'll need to track its impact..."
I don't get it. 300 hp is nothing for champions, what is this 2-3 autos? And Minions run faster and deal more dmg to turrets means the snowball is even bigger
One Auto along with one full minion wave Auto at around 6 minutes in. Whoot big buff
This is a joke. They could double towers' hp, armor AND damage to champions and they still wouldn't be too strong. Wet toilet paper+300 hp is still wet toilet paper, and they even offset it with increased minion damage.
For those who doubt it - just wait and see it yourselves.
At this point, they should probably triple the resistances. I think that would at least let the early game be stronger, but then later when people are building
the bonuses are somewhat offset.
300 health? eh, barely doing anything. I'd rather have some goddamn lasers or shields or amplification of resistances depending of number of close opponents or whatever :(
But the intention is good, thank you Riot for hearing our concerns
How again is giving Towers more HP making them more attractive for splitpushing? :thonk:
When split pushing solo, minions make up a higher percentage of the damage dealt to a turret.
When grouping, minions just soak turret shots while the collective damage of the team makes up the lion's share of the damage.
Towers should get more resistances the more enemy champions are around, and bring back laser or something..
For those complaining about the minion damage:
Increased minion damage isn't much at all. The bigger issue is how fast champions take them.
These kinds of changes are on-par with what would stop champions from taking them in seconds. Increasing defenses, but reducing total defenses toward minions would put more emphasis on wave usage, rather than just champions. This means if you forget a turret exists, and let a wave hit it, it's gonna take more damage, but, say, Fiora isn't taking your turret with a single wave when you back.
cough it also means that technically they're making marksmen less important cough which is really important for settling the circlejerk. cough
300 health is paltry. That's 2 auto attacks from anyone that isn't a tank without demolish. 1 if you have enough penetration. With the minion changes, towers are going to fall even faster mid game, further increasing the advantage the team that gets ahead earlier.
I know that the 300 hp isn't much now. It's a start, however.
Lol, maybe if they added 300 health to the towers per patch until 8.5, then maybe towers will be worth a damn.
Or...it could just be a minor, small shift, to test the waters, to see if it's the right direction to take?

Can't win for losing...or in most of the people's cases here...can't lose for losing. They'll never be satisfied, DDU. Not sure why most of the people on these boards even play the game. It's obviously a huge stressor on their lives. Yet the game is f2p and can totally be avoided.
shrugs
Maybe because some are playing the game since the huge majority of this game still sat in kindergarten? I'm here since s1 this game has been the game of my youth and adulthood and even with breaks inbetween i always came back and it'S frustrating what kind of direction riot takes the game because i have seen too many favorite games get killed by that direction and rito somehow is way too arrogant to believe they could fail.
Damn.
later in a game that's 2 auto attacks. The problem is that turrets die too fast early, they are SUPPOSED to die fast in the lategame. If they don't it will fucking take forever to close out a game.
Real talk, this is going to make snowballing a lot worse. Remember that change back in season 5-6 I believe it was where minions would push harder against you when behind? Remember that awful change that means minions will make more massive groups to push a lane while your team can now freely push another lane creating 2 to 3 threats a team now has to answer?
Yeah now Minions do more damage and will push towers down even harder, further making the issue at hand worse.
With the minion damage change, wouldn't this increase the value of Baron Buff?
How are there so many ''hurr durr only 300hp'' comments here? This makes towers harder to kill early so you don't lose your tower after a jungle gank. I feel like people don't even know what they're bitching about at this point.

Minions got 10% more damage against towers at the same time and even an ms boost after 20. So, I doubt that the actual time for a tower to go down will be significantly different if not faster.
Actually math puts it at 20% increase. doesn't make the point any weaker though
20% increased damage* they went from 50% damage to 60% damage, a 20% increase.
Was expecting +5 AD. Was disappointed.
they would want to change how much they deal to champions, changing there absolute damage does bad things to last hitting under towers.
I'm referencing a meme, not making a serious suggestion.
I really want the minion change to be reverted. That will just make having to get the side lanes for farm even harder and much tighter timing wise.
Well let's see what 300 hp will actually do.
We have seen in the past that the smallest nerfs/buffs can have a huge impact (lee sin -2% winrate because of less movementspeed etc.)
Hell you don't even need to change anything to influence win rates. I think it was Vlad who had a big nerf listed in the patch notes, and when the patch went live his win rate plummeted and people thanked Riot for making him easier to deal with. Turns out however that they forgot to add the Vlad nerf in the actual patch so literally nothing changed about him. Same thing but reversed happened to Riven when she was garbage.
Best Nerf ever. Le sin was so dumb prior to that. "hey, I have some of the best mobility spells in the game, why not have the best ms too"
emphasis on little, if anything at all :/
Just give them more damage, I want them to kill divers that just jump in without the backup of minions, not for them to walk away.
Oh look, a "compensation buff" for towers. Just like Veigar!
Minions are doing more damage to turrets tho
Hey looks guys! We can finally hide under our towers! 5 minutes into a game "I'll just sit here and far---Where'd my tower go?" 4 people spam laugh then proceed to watch as minions run at mach 3 to kill you with their ungodly damage [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] Thanks Riot! For giving towers the buff they need! For reals though, all towers did was get health... so in other words we asked for towers to be stronger, so basically work out and get jacked. What we got was, the towers splurged on McDonalds and gained some weight.
And minions got a buff towards doing damage to towers YAY.... Nonexistent buff...
Riot is even power creeping the creeps LUL
