GP on the other team is abnormal

Me on chat

"GP you don't seem like your from this elo"

the gangplank "sorry am playing with some friends am diamond"

are you fucking kidding me riot. this is your ranked mode? you have the balls to call it ranked when its just as pathetic as normals now. its literally. the same thing as normals.

am gold 5 man.

mean while the braum on the chat who LOST LANE and was duoing with this GP is telling me to not be sad

what has this game came to?

this isn't fun. it isn't a ranked mode. it isn't anything but frustration and torture how dare i not have DIAMOND+CHALLENGER friends

just few days ago i had a freakin challenger boosting in a qudra queue i mean this shit happens on regular bases

i mean you can just tell. you just can freakin tell when someone doesn't belong in the elo your playing not by looking at his score just watching him move around and act/react for 10 seconds. i mean you know what am talking about?

i mean i looked up the boosted animal op.gg this guy had abyssal record before duoing. and after he won nearly every damn game.

how is this even logical to riot?

They can't stop smurfs as they are incredible hard to identify.

I've never seen anyone being boosted I don't think I've seen a smurf either.

You can also only que with 1 tier above (so gold can que with plat but no higher).

Now if you think he's being boosted help the community and report him and his duoq for it

Slythion23 votes

Except there would be significantly less smurfs if they can't just queue up with multiple friends and are only limited to one friend per game (aka our old Solo Queue)

DQ basically encourages smurfs which is a huge issue

B00B004 votes

it makes boosting easier thats 100% for sure, as for smurfs, i haven't seen an increase as said above i don't think i've ever run into one, if i have there not good enough to stand out.

Slythion12 votes

Boosting can only be done by smurfs...so if it's easier to boost it's only logical that there will be more smurfs

There's also a larger chance of having smurfs when you encourage friends to play together because the likelyhood of every friend being the same skill is unlikely...yet another reason why DQ doesn't belong in ranked

As for the

Now if you think he's being boosted help the community and report him and his duoq for it

the problem is that "playing with friends" and "boosting" can be used interchangeably, which is incredibly illogical because one (playing with friends) is allowed and the other (boosting) is not. And when you encourage players from higher ranks to play with their friends (allowed) they will inadvertantly boost their friends (unallowed) so again...where's the logic?

Do we report them for playing with friends or inadvertently boosting their friends. Just because their friends doesn't mean it's not boosting. A further problem is...where's the report for boosting in the game? Which option would we select?

B00B004 votes

i would personally select unsportsmanlike conduct, and write my concerns in there.

thing is it's on the friends too as there is the normal mode to play in with friends and your right it is a flaw that SHOULD NOT exist in a ranked system, however Riot will look at win rates and previous win rates if there is a sudden % increase with X person, they will ban the X persons account, and suspend Y persons account, i've had this happen to a friend and when he was talking to me all i said was;

''well you know boosting is illegal within riots system and you have consented and while not used a boosting service you played with a friend who has inadvertently boosted you''

now this is something that iu think we both agree on just flat-out should NOT be allowed to happen.

Riots DuoQ + Team 5v5Q was perfect, no? use the new game launcher/lobby (its fantastic i think, the role choosing), hard-reset everyones MMR next season, its too late to do it now this season.

One system being downright bad and one system being imperfect are not the same thing.

Also, the assumption that the same people who dislike dynamic queue didn't protest the things that needed fixed in the old solo queue too is defunct.

well...you need to respect that in my experience just like i respect your experience with them (I'm simply providing my experience as an example for the good of the topic) i havre not seen any, and if i have then they are not good enough for me to notice any difference.

you say movements on the map, i play the map and i play objectives i do gank and i do kill but only if its 100% safe and worth it, or a game winning pick otherwise i just push and play the map, most people don't seem to keep up with what your doing as the majority i find think or act as if its all about kills to win a game (stomps do happen I'm not saying they do not, they do)

Not exactly sure what this has to do with dynamic queue same exact thing happened in the old solo queue and you weren't bitching then.

Only 1 person what smurfing. Just like they could have in dynamic. And you said it was a duo queue, So I take it you're just lying to make a point.

You can try to do it by syncing up when the match pop ups occur. It's really hard to do, but it gets easier at higher elos due to fewer players. They sometimes have someone on the other side throw their lane to ensure a win as well. It's a real dumb way, but it works.

Except matchmaking system matches smurfs with smurfs after just a couple of games, after creating an account.

Don't bullshit me with "They are hard to identify". They are not.

Also, reporting for boosting does crap, because the whole process was legalized.

B00B003 votes

no it was not legalised at all, it is not allowed, full stop.

they mad it 100% easier to provide people with sure but it is NOT allowed.

and they are hard to identify and yes the system does EVENTUALLY identify them, after it is clear their play/MMR is higher they are matched with appropiate MMR, but this takes a long time, you Can see this in effect in any streamers stream re-climbing the ladder on a smurf account.

Vistha Kai6 votes

Smurf detection only works in normals. Ranked works differently.

And yes, it was legalised, period. Riot defines "boosting" as "somebody else than the person who created the account, playing on that account".

Of course the part about logging into your account stays the same, but essentially you hire (or not) people to win matches for you.

Hello I am Bird7 votes

They allow smurfing I'm pretty sure.

Riot said if someone wants to take the time to level up a whole new account then they don't care.

I am a smurf and i never fight a smurf ever why? i won but near the end i died often so my KDA tanks sooooooooooo hard

Smurfs are easy to identify.

I'm a smurf and former booster. There are a lot. I had a full team of boosters at one point where we would 5 man boost. I have never seen smurfing get this bad before and I used to be deep in the "underworld" of leagues

Isn't that the point of smurf accounts? Lose every soloq game win every boosting game

You can't get reported for boosting/smurfing anymore. If I'm using my own personal smurf account, it's perfectly legal.

A Diamond smurf duoing with someone else could literally happen exactly the same way in previous seasons. Literally. Nothing to do with DynQ...

I Like Things 8 votes

Nothing to do with DynQ...

Except dynamic queue enables one previously terrible player to potentially queue up with two to four friends of significantly higher rating playing on smurf accounts to artificially inflate their own standing, this is the most extreme potential use of course. Although I feel the frequency of it happening is much higher than anyone would have ever anticipated, judging from player feedback over the last ~6 months. That's what these posts are in regard to.

So excuse me for saying it directly; You're wrong. It has literally everything to do with dynamic queue.

DeathBurst3 votes

The case described in OP could have happened exactly the same way in previous Seasons. Maybe there are other cases out there (even if I don't believe that they are as common as you state), but the case described in OP, to which I was responding, has nothing to do with DynQ.

I Like Things 7 votes

The case described in OP could have happened exactly the same way in previous Seasons.

Care to elaborate on that? I've played since season 1 and while you're 100% correct about it being duo queue from day 1 my point here is that that GP could have easily had 1 or 2 other friends of equivalent skill on smurf accounts to help their season 5 low ranked friend achieve a rank they'd have never attained alone.

In the OP it was stated that GP responded "sorry am playing with some friends am diamond", emphasis on pluralized use of the word friend.

The potential to duo queue was always there, yes, but the potential to quad queue wasn't. Not until dynamic queue, which again, is what these posts are in regard to.

DeathBurst2 votes

Well, he later said in the thread "duoing"... So there is a typo somewhere.

the braum on the chat who LOST LANE and was duoing with this GP

Downvote me all you want, circlejerk, what's in this comment is still factually true...

Flitchee2 votes

Not really man, I mean the likely hood of seeing that shit, is just kinda low. I mean yeah one really good player can carry bronze/silver and stuff, but as you start moving up, it becomes hard to boost people because the one player is a massive liability. It then becomes, okay, well i have to play an absolute hard carry or i lose, or on the off chance i go even, the game is a downhill battle because it is essentially 4v5 or 4v6.

LiungLindwurm6 votes

let's be true to ourselves , 2016 ranked does not reflect your skill...quit wasting time in a dead game mode which is about who is getting the most smurf in a team

Subject 55 votes

I've been on a losing streak since I have reached gold 5, I have noticed a large increase of teams since I have gotten into gold- me being a support main in ranked . . .

I sort of get slaughtered from the 4-5 man ganks in the bottom lane. Fun. Game. Yay. Dynamic. Is. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

FUN.

People used teamwork to defeat your team in a team game. Seems reasonable.

If there was a true ranked soloQ, without Duos (you know, like the one we were promised), there would be no boosting at all... or at least not in soloQ.

DrCyanide3 votes

Don't kid yourself, of course there would be smurfs. There's always people trying to start over and climb again or start over and troll.

My bad, tired. I mean boosting, not smurfing.

Edit: Edited.

People would still boost because there is multiple websites that boost for money, or just playing on a friends account.

You can hardly claim it would be as widespread as it is now, it wasn't remotely as widespread even when people could duo so I find it hard to believe it would be very noticeable in soloQ.

I have my doubts about that. Have you watched this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtjCL1oInz4 Can you really tell the ELO in 10-30 seconds with a good accuracy?

LOL I got all wrong. The Ezreal clip got me good. Guy got a double kill under the enemy tower after eating a Blitz hook. This guy had to be Diamond. Wrong. He was Bronze lmao

Komatose1 votes

I agree with your doubts because no, you can't. I watched this video when I was a newer player and got it all wrong. Every single one. It's impossible to tell without watching the full game, and even then I'm not sure. A Bronze 5 player can have a good game and look higher elo in 30 seconds of gameplay, and even in a full game. A Diamond 1 player can have a horrible game and look like a Bronze player.

Oh those times when your pick place was defined by your mmr and the last pick said: lemme me mid plz, me diamond smurf posts lolking of some diamond friend. 5 mins into the game he went 0/5. Since then i either dodged or just never listened to the "i'm diamond"

People act like this is a problem when it really isn't. First of all, if you only play solo q the chances that you will see other premades is a lot lower. Secondly, if you are with your friends you can still win if you see a smurf if you play smart because 3 beats 1 even if he is a lot better than you. Third, I rarely see anyone i suspect of being a smurf, one time I thought someone was a smurf but he had a 50% win percentage with a few hundred games played so i guess he wasn't. I'm in silver 3 btw.

Honestly you wouldn't know if the player was a smurf or not. This is not a dq problem, it's a smurf account problem. I ought to know because I smurf to help bronze-gold players very often.
