I'm confused as to why lucian gets nerfed for opressiveness in lane...

When zyra is currently being buffed, renekton is being buffed, darius is allowed to remain at his state, ezreal still has no mana costs on his q, sona is being buffed, caitlyn is allowed to be where she is... Lucian basically gets outscaled by every adc if he doesn't hide in the bush until the adc is distracted by someone else. Lucian 1v1ing an ashe late game without qss/flash? kek. lucian going anywhere with an enemy twitch? kek. lucian walking near a caitlyn? kek. rant thread but pls stop nerfing balanced adc ; the ability can be fuckin sidestepped and its cast range is as short as his auto range so if you weren't weaving it through minions correctly you shouldn't expect to hit it in the first place.

I don't agree with buffs to zyra for sure, BUT, Lucian was worse since he was seen in something like 50% of the games. That by itself indicates something is wrong. He was just too generally strong.

In this case riot did the right thing. A somewhat light nerfs (boards were full of posts that it won't do anything, but guess what..), and now he's still a popular adc with high pick rate but not an outlier. Zyra is not picked nearly as often. I think she should get light nerfs rather than buffs, but it's nowhere near as clear cut as with lucian.

Maybe people enjoyed playing him because he was the only adc with a dash and could do good if played right?

Maybe, but whatever the reason, ~50% pick rate long term is too high to be healthy. Though only adc with dash? What about trist/vayne/cait?

Trist is a jump that has a long "startup" vayne can only go through like one wall if done PERFECTLY and jarvans ult, and cait isn't a dash it's just a net that gives her 50000 damage. Lucian felt extremely satisfying to weave with but he still never achieved late game status like cait vayne kog and trist.
