This has been a bug that is around forever. Usually when thrown form a bush or from Fog of war but it allows no chance to react to it because you get no visual signals that it even exists until it hits.

The vision bugs were fixed twice already. As was the AA animation cancel. The early pounce bug. The flat random invisible spear.

Nid is a classic example of a lot of different bugs doing the same thing. Even after the last fix, Riot admitted this still sometimes happens. Thankfully, it is rare enough at this point that people could have conceivably never experienced it.

Rito never disable popular champions.

like they never disabled riven even when she has a game breaking bug from the aa change this patch that makes her combo about twice as fast.
