"Mana Hungry" should not be a Lux weakness

darkdill··7 votes·681 views

She's already completely skill-shot reliant, squishy, slow, unable to deal with tanks, and has bad cooldowns even if she maxes out CDR. I think that's enough drawbacks, so why should "mana hungry" also be among them?

Riot, please lower the cost of Lucent Singularity. It cripples her early-to-mid game far too much, such that she can't even long-range farm against assassins like Zed.

Lux has a double snare. A double shield. An AoE slow and a semi-global low cd ult. Wtf would you NOT want her to be mana hungry? Go play someone like Twisted Fate then complain about assassins. Lux has it easy

If Lux has so much good stuff, then why isn't she picked at all at high tier?

Firstly i'd like to state people who try to base things off "high tier" are fking stupid. Most of the community is below gold. So who gives a fuck? Go play in the lcs if you are so infatuated with what the high tier players do.

Secondly Lux isn't picked because there's retarded things like zed/lb/kata in the game. Lux is immobile. Riot doesn't want that sh*t being seen. Why pick an immobile mage and try landing a skill shot when I can pick leblanc and be extremely mobile while 1 shoting everything I see?

In addition to this reason, Lux was getting played in almost every game because of her incredibly powerful kit. The only nerf she got was a movespeed nerf and then she wasn't seen anymore. If she didn't have mana gating her abilities, she would be completely unstoppable.

As it is, if you don't kill her in the lane phase, it becomes very hard to kill her at all.

She also received an ult CD nerf.

A lot has changed since her glory days. She does not perform well in the current meta. Without significant buffs that will not change as Riot seems to have no intentions of reigning in mobility creep.

She is, 11th most picked mid laner out of like 50, and only 2 mages are picked more than her. Why are you complaining about high tier picks anyways when you're no where close to it?

A champion with only 1 skill shot, a targeted stun, mana refund, a semi-global ult that grants him mobility, and decent poke (and wave clear) that has a lower CD and lower mana cost? Gladly. Any day.

Go play lux vs zed then play TF vs zed. Go play lux vs leblanc then TF vs leblanc.

You will notice how much easier lux has it. Lux has it easier than most mages that lack mobility. A little bit of mana issues that go away once you get a mana regen item aint nothin

yes i also want long range mages that cant be dove because CC and shields to be able to go straight into AP items instead of building mana regen so they can safely waveclear from fountain

darkdill2 votes

Xerath already does that, what's your point?

If you can't dive Lux then you clearly are the "Worst Mid Ever."

only tf and panth have gapclosers long enough to get onto lux while she is afk waveclearing

Picking Zed into Lux Is borderline BM.

Maybe its just me but I never seem to have a real problem with lux's mana. In comparison to other champs yes it sucks. Does it make her unviable? Not at all. Not saying she doesn't deserve a buff but sometimes I wonder how much thought is actually put into her current state. Again I never really notice too much.

Since the mana changes it is pretty brutal.

Um I didnt own lux pre mana change. Maybe thats why I don't notice it. But still doesn't bother me much

although it's true that lux isn't in the best spot right now, i don't get all this circlejerking about her needing buffs. she is decent the way she is, even if she has high mana costs.

Lux is in a state where she's simply inferior to Xerath, Orianna, and Ziggs. Xerath and Ziggs easily beat her damage, while Orianna's utility is hugely better than Lux's. Additionally, Lux's E has both a terrible mana cost AND does less damage than virtually any other mage's waveclear skill.

For instance, Viktor's E when augmented does 350 (+0.98 AP) damage for 110 mana, while Lux does 240 (+0.6 AP) for 130 mana, and both can be used at long range. Does that seem fair?

That's why she needs mini-buffs.
